WindowBlinds4 Won't Uninstall?

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can uninstall WindowBlinds4 in Stardock Central? I have tried several times but it says it encountered an error. The reason I need to uninstall is so that I can re-install it to hopefully correct this Wbload.exe issue I'm having which seems to be causing some problems with WindowBlinds not functioning correctly. And if anyone has any idea as to how to fix the WBload.exe problem I'm all ears...errr...eyes.

If you have an install.log present (should be in C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds), copy it to your C:\root directory and it should un-install.

I thought of looking in my Add/Remove to uninstall it but I guess since my WindowBlinds is listed together within Stardock Central and not seperately it doesn't show up to remove it. Stardock Central & Objectdock are there but that doesn't help.

Yrag...any chance you could explain what you mean by copying it to my C:\root directory to uninstall it? I'm not familiar with what your talking about, but a little roadmap will help out.

Sure...if your operating system is loaded on hard drive 'C' then your root is C:\. Copy the file there and try the un-install.

Maybe you could try uninstalling Stardock Central, then delete both the Stardock Central folder and the Object Desktop folder under c://program files/stardock/, then reinstall Stardock Central, and reinstall Windowblinds in the Stardock Central Browser.

Thanks Yrag & Tech Cat,

I tried looking for the WindowBlinds4 file in my files but it's not very specific which one it is. And I thought about simply uninstalling Stardock altogether and then re-installing it, but wouldn't that mean losing everything I've downloaded into Winstyles, WindowBlinds3.5 and so on? And I'm sorry Yrag, I'm sure your instructions make perfect sense, but I think my saying I'm not familiar was probably understated, I'm probably more like stuck in a ditch on the information highway. I understand what the registry is and where all my files are, and I can find things pretty well, but when you say my C:\root, I stare at the screen with a glazed look in my eyes...lol I've been able to enable my floppy after installing it through my BIOS without even knowing what a BIOS was, but some things are still greek to me. So I guess I need to find out what exactly the C:\root is and where it is before I can move anything to it and how I would do that.

You won't lose everything you have downloaded when you uninstall Stardock Central if you make backups first. Just right click each app and then click on Archive/Restore->Selected App. There will be a zip file for each app you have backed up in c://program files/stardock/sdcentral/backup. You can also make backups of all your skins by making zip files and adding the skins from the skin folders of each app. Once you have done all your backups, you should then be able to reinstall all your apps and skins without redownloading after you reinstall Stardock Central. Just move the app backups back into the backup folder for sdcentral and on the install list in Stardock Central just right click then click on Archive/Restore->Restore Existing. You can reinstall all your skins by unzipping them into the skin folders of each app.

Save your skins just as Tech Cat suggested and install and run this https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe

As info your 'root directory' is C:. When you click on My Computer and then click on the C drive what you're looking at is your root drive/directory.

Hold on with that link....for some reason it isn't coming up....let me see if I can get it somewhere else...

OK...got it...the link is now a direct download.......

The link isn't there Yrag. I clicked on the one you had in your post but it didn't come up.

The link is good...the file is only 68kb so it probably downloaded and you didn't even realize it...do a search on your HD for 'odnt_zapper' (w/o the quotes)

Hey Yrag...Uh...what exactly does this zapper do?
I would guess by the name that zapper uninstalls Object Desktop. I will go ahead and bump this to make sure Yrag or someone who konws will see this.

*bump*

Un - install everything related to Stardock that shows in 'Add and Remove Programs" in Control Panel and if there is anything left 'Zapper' will delete all references to ObjectDock Network software...

Hi Yrag,

I did an uninstall after I had another problem. WindowBlinds stopped skinning, but it would still color the windows background. So I uninstalled, used the zapper, and they are working again. Still not sure if I want to download the WindowBlinds4.19 yet now that I have 3.51 working again...lol. But thanks for all your help.
