Can't open settings on Object Dock Plus for Win 7

Config Dock and right click ->settings (-> settings) not working

I posted on a general forum and got a couple of responses, but no solution. I contacted StarDock technical support, got an email asking to run a program which basically zipped a bunch of logs up for me to email to them, which I did. No response now for days, and still no way to configure this software.

I did a log of research over the last 2 weeks on this, but without knowing how the config window works, it's hard to figure out where to go next. I even tried to run config and then went through every log trying to find some clue as to what had happened, there seems to be no entries anywhere at the time i cluck Config. The config icon 'pulses' when selected, but nothing opens anywhere.

Does anyone know if the config uses .Net or IE for settings? I can't believe I spent $20 on this and now I'm having to spend hours trying to figure out ow to make it work. Is StarDock always this slow at technical support?

Stardock has their moments, but you should email them again and they probably respond... everytime I haven't gotten a response the first time I sent it again...

but I am having the exact same problem with the dock, and I have no idea why, I've tried everything from reinstalling, and all sorts of other things... exact same problem here... so what do we do about it... lol...

Sending a second query moves your first one to the back of the cue to start all over again. Sometimes, after a holiday it takes awhile to get caught up. Any other questions you may try the forums for ObjectDock. Usually an Admin or Moderator can be found there. Ask.

I'm running ObjectDock Plus V2 on a Win 7 64 bit system without any problems.

Do you also have ObjectDock Plus loaded?  I could be mistaken but I believe I saw in a previous thread that V2 uses files from the older version.  Hopefully a support person will see this and verifly if that is true.

I continue to send requests to Sky dock with no reply. I had one last week with the obvious uninstall and re-install. needless to say, I have done that without any success. I enabled a bunch of logs in Event Viewer to see if I could find a cause - no success. I've been asking if the settings tries to access the web or if it's on .Net as this would help me try find a cause, but I can't even get that info.

It's coming up to 2 months since I paid for this and submitted a support ticket with no resolution, and almot as little communication!

OK, so I've been going through this so long I'm losing my mind!

Has anyone got both .NET2.0 ad .NET4.0 installed, or just .NET4.0?

I have both .net 2.0 and 4.0. OD runs smoothly for me without any hassles at all. I have Win7 64 bit. Opening settings, changing settings, the whole nine. Once it encountered a problem and had to close but that's about it.

interesting... does anyone think it has anything to do with .net?  should I install 2.0 and then 4.0? and should I skip 3.0?  I'm having no luck but I want my OD 2.0 to work....

just tried to install .net 2.0 and apperently it's a part of my operating system... so it wouldn't install it... but now I'm installing 4.0.. we'll see how that works....

Michael for what it is worth, you are not the only one who has had problems with Object Dock Plus 2.0. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I have never been able to get ODP 2.0 to run correctly. One of my main issues is that I can only get the default themes to show, no matter how many I add, and no matter where I place new themes (correct folders). After getting a few patronizing answers in the Impulse chat room(s), I gave up. Since then I have been using ODP 1.90. At least I can add and change themes with it. Good luck! :)

Success! It turns out it was the Arial font. The issue was, I had to select 'Run as Administrator'! The Stardock support team sent over a logging program, logged in and saw it couldn't find the font. When I installed before by selecting run, it said t installed but something ovviosuly didn't take. So I figured I'd try Run as Administrator, and it worked!

Thanks to all of you for helping out. Much appreciated!
