Help!!

Hi there

After a few month I was using OD 2 and when finally, all my dock are as I wanted; OD - after a computer crash (maybe due at mailwasher program) after the startup, load itself without any of my docks but only with a little blue docks completely empty.

I've tried to unload and reload 3 times, but without any success.

What I have to do?

Thanks for any help

Lio

I found this in Events log for OD: it seems to be this error to crash my PC.

If I were you, I would uninstall OD2 through Impulse and then reinstall it....and start over. I would also suggest that when you do succeed in returning things to the way they were save your settings.

How do you save your settings under OD2? It was easy under 1.90, but there doesn't seem to be that function anymore under OD2, well at least not under the plus version of 2.0......

In version 2 Open Dock Configuration, click on setting, then select Troubleshooting options.  Go down to Setting Reset.  Look at the first option.

I have not tried this so I don't know how it works.  :sun:

This screenie should help explain what to do.

I had this happen over the weekend as well...not pleased. Luckily I had a backup of my settings file, but still. Haven't been too pleased or impressed with OD2 thus far. The fact that it's still missing features that were readily present in 1.9 is just sad. :annoyed:

In all fairness. I have been using OD2 since it was in Beta stage and am very pleased with the upgrade purchase. I don't know what I would do without it. It makes my life more pleasant, eye candy, and my computing experience much easier.

I am sorry that yo are experiencing problems but in most cases there are plenty of members or official Stardock support who are more than willing to help. That comes included in the price also. I guess it's called, natural evolution. After your first crash, when yo started up Object Dock, did you not get a pop up window saying that there had been a crash and asking if you want to reset thhe settings? If your experience happened after a crash, did you find the reason for the crash? I would use something like Revo uninstaller to remove all traces than reinstall with Impulse, that is if a simple uninstall and reinstall using Impulse does not solve the problem..

That's a terribly round about way to do it considering how easy it use to be.

Hello, I'm finally back :)

OK, I've tried all, but at the end I can only tell you that if I don't start OD 2, my computer runs normally.

I did a backup of my settings (i'm not totally sure about the real possibility to be able to reinstall my OD) with 4 file .ini: AppImages, CurrentTheme, CurrentTheme_backup, Settings). I have copied the whole folder ObjectDock Library too :)

Now I would like to try  to uninstall OD 2 and then reinstall it.

Do you think that with this backup I can have my OD ready to go ?

And what about this SideBySide error? I cannot solve it:(

Thanks
