two theme cannot exist at the same time?

Hi all,

I'm a Dell laptop user and I'm new to MyColors.  I got to know MyColors accidentally from the Dell Dock website and downloaded the Diamond and Think Green theme installer.  However, whatever sequence in which I installed the two themes, only the last-installed one appeared in the MyColors control panel.  Can anyone help me with this?

And 2 more minor questions:

1. Besides the above-mentioned last-installed theme, the other one appeared in the MyColors control panel is the Windows XP theme.  However, my system is Windows 7.  Anything wrong here?

2. Immediately after MyColors is installed (before I apply any theme), some file types' icon is changed, e.g. the zip file icon.  How can I restore my original icon settings?

Thanks,

-neverhoodboy

It sounds like you're running the installer each time, which won't necessarily preserve themes. To get access to the other free MyColors themes please visit the following page:

http://www.impulsedriven.com/explore/software/desktop/mycolors/free

You will see each free theme listed. Click on whichever one you would like and then click the 'Add To Cart' button. Follow the checkout process and you will be sent a registration key which can be entered into MyColors to download the theme.

To try to resolve the stuck icon problem, I am going to have you download the trial version of another one of our programs called IconPackager from here:

http://storage.stardock.com/files/iconpackager_public.exe

Install and try the process listed below.
In IconPackager, under Settings>System Settings you can use the 'Rebuild Icon Cache' and Repair Icon Images buttons, which should help with this issue. If not, try the Repair Shell Icons... button and select "Repair shell icons for all processes" and click OK.
