Is version 2.0 faster than 1.9?

Hi,

I have been using ObjectDock Plus 1.9 for several years now and I'm satisfied with the product. The only problem I have with it is that it loads and unloads very slowly. I have multiple tabbed docks loaded with a lot of shortcuts.

Does version 2.0 load faster?

Also, is there a clean migration path from 1.9 to 2.0 when upgrading? Are the current docks and shortcuts preserved?

Thanks in advance.

ObjectDock v1 and v2 share the same settings folder, so your settings will automatically be imported. You can try the free version of ObjectDock v2 here:

Hi Dewie,

Thanks. However, the obvious reason for which OD Plus 1.9 is loading so slowly on my system is the high number of tabs and shortcuts I have setup in my dock. And tabbed docks are not supported in the free version (unless I missed something - I could not find any comparison chart). And if version 2.0 still uses the old INI format to store the program configuration, I'm afraid version 2.0 will still load as slowly as version 1.9...

Ah, yes, I see that you said that you had a high number of tabbed docks. Sorry. The backend for ObjectDock hasn't changed significantly enough for you to notice a big difference in loading times.
