Out of Memory?
Everytime that I play a game, at some random point I get that messaje, and then Elemental crashes to the desktop...
What can I do to solve it? If I save, can I resume the game or it is lost for good?

one thing that can help for 64 bit windows is the LAA trick, but it only helps, and does NOT fix the cause of the problem.
the only people that CAN fix the memory leaks that cause the Out Of Memory error IS stardock.

I have the same problem, with the game eating all two gigs of ram I've got (despite theoretically only needing one) and then crashing. Obviously there is a memory leak somewhere. What I have done is to set the game to autosave every turn, so if it does crash, I can pick up from pretty much where I left off. Also though, there is usually some indication that it is about to hit this threshold, as the computer starts to do a lot of harddrive data swapping and the game starts to really slow down. Typically I will notice this and shut down the game myself.
I have found however that it seems a lot of ram remains committed even though the game has been terminated. If I reboot from that point, the crash comes much sooner than it did the first time. What I have started to do not, is to not just shut down the program when I see it swapping a lot, but to also reboot my computer, so as to totally clear the ram.
I had this issue when I finally decided to play again yesterday, to see how the crashing has improved. Few hundred turns in, while I was at war, the game liked to crash every 4-5 turns, either a "Elemental has stopped working" or the standard out of memory issue. Oddly enough, after I killed the faction I was at war with, the crashing stopped. I suspect foul play by Kraxis.
You can safely keep reloading, and saving every turn, you can complete a game now, as I managed to yesterday. I still find it funny to see out of memory errors when you have 16GB RAM though.
They got my 50 bucks so i guess it dosent matter to them if they fix these memory leaks huh?It happens to me when i get rare or better resources on the map.then it crashes over and over.
That makes sense about killing the faction. In Age of Wonders and the other games I've played like this, if you play on a huge map with lots of opponents, later in the game, it can take AGES for it to calculate the AI's turns. The computer can get really bogged down at this point. But once you kill them, it all goes super fast again, like turn 1. I guess these games just struggle late in the game when so much is happening. Although, at least with other games you can struggle on and win. This game just crashes
Hopefully they will fix it soon.
