Demigod on sale now, $5.99

Demigod, on sale, right now, $5.99. I've never even tried it, but at that price, why not? I'm not sure for how long the promotion applies; chime in if you know.

I received the email this morning announcing the sale, but there's no other promotion that I can see. It's not on either of the RSS feeds -- or at least the Google Reader one is stale -- and it's not on the front page unless you click into the On Sale list.

Impulse, may I humbly suggest promoting your first- and second-party game major sales on the front page. It seems to work very well for both publishers and developers, given the track record of That Other Major Game Download Service.

PS Should I buy this?

Demigod has a little bit of a cult following from some of us.  I'd say its easily worth it at that price, but I will cover the negatives.  The AI isn't all that great for SP, but a few very talented modders customized the AI and made it MUCH better (check the modding forums for skirmish AI).  Another negative - in MP, you will likely have a hard time getting games going initially.  The majority of games are 3v3, but demigod is such that if 1 player on your team is brand new, that team has about a 95% chance of losing - this results in veteran players kicking new folks if they join one of their games.  The easiest way to get around this when you are new is to simply host or join noob or new player games.  Anyway, on the positives - its better looking than any game in its genre... graphics are better than that of starcraft 2 to mention 1 game.  Anyway, even without venturing into MP you can easily get $6 out of this game.

This is excellent!!!!!!

I just bought a copy and gifted it to a friend.

I hope this sale price remains long enough for my next LAN party.... We play Demigod LAN about once a month and there's up to 20 people attending..... My brother and I will gift a copy to all our LAN friends at this price in a couple of weeks.

Cool. I hope we can find some more players for multiplayer.

Impulse, please keep this promo price going for at least another week! I'm collecting ten e-mail addresses from gaming colleagues and will be gifting them each a copy.... A friend of mine who plays DG will also be gifting several copies. This way I hope to add 10-20 Australians to the demigod community.

Lol, every time I play the aussies have great pings! It's those evil US East players that got big 'uns. :-O

It will be Wed or thursday that I have the paypal funds....silly me haven't topped it up in a while. Then I'll be buying 10 copies and smurf my brother.

Here's an idea: how about everyone buy an extra copy, install DG on a second computer in your gaming room (If you don't have at least 2 gaming machines it's no wonder you don't have friends). THEN all you need to do is get your 2 keyboards next to each other, and your 2 mouse, but up your monitors next to each other too. Logon to both accounts and put both your players on the same team. Then play a match controlling 2 demigods at once. Most of the time you could watch just the one monitor, because you can see your ally (your other dg you control) on that screen too... You'd only need to look to monitor #2 for commanding the other DG.

This would be great.... 1 man premade team vs another 1 man premade 2v2.... Fun for $6 is bloody worth it I think.

I will create another profile with similar name to mine and then will try this sometime..... I just gotta get a 2nd gaming machine....LOL that's why my friends never come over!
