With so many people making XP skins, how many of you are actually plannin to upgrade to Win XP?

If not, how many of you are planning to stick with Win98/ME?

Right now I am using ME and it is pissing me off so much that I reverting back to 98. If XP is as good as everyone claims it is I'll buy it as long as I can continue to skin it with windowblinds also.

I'll be sticking to my dualboot with 2K and 98 (1.ed)!! Good enough for me!

XP has some additional features that make it a nice upgrade, but if you truly like to game, then stick with 98se or W2K Pro. The first thing I did when using the Beta, was turn off, alot of the crap, that is preinitialized, from MS. There are alot of services and features that the average user, need not have running. XP is a clever ploy for MS, to start unifying the Market, and bringing all the users under their terms and stratagies. Joe Blow User will no doubt accept, whatever is running under the hood without question. This is where MS gets ya...
Standard by default...

Not only no, but hell no.

Well, unless MS changes their "protection" scheme, I sure won't be upgrading my OS. I play with my hardware too much, and I'll be "@#$%ed" if I'll ask their permission everytime I want to upgrade my machine...

That, along with the fact that Steve Gibson has major problems with WinXP security and it's Full Raw Sockets...

I'll stick with 2K....the only neat thing I have seen in XP is the WindowBlinds integration...which reminds me....gotta get another beta....WB timed out.....

Windows XP? I'd never stoop so low... come to think of it, I've never purchased a single version of Windows, yet they're coming out of my ears. My eyes hurt, I need sleep.

Hell no, never ever.
From all I've read from it, there is NOTHING compelling about it. Only annoying things (HailStorm, protection keys, etc.). No XP is Microsoft's first step into the .NET strategy with witch Microsoft plan to completly take over the whole electronics industry (cameras, PDA, game consoles, even eventually refrigerators, cars, TVs) with proprietary standards. I will take no part in that.
I will switch definatly to Linux before I do.
No way.

By the way, I'm running Win 2000 and very happy with it.

I'm sticking with 98se for as long as I can. It works just fine.

I run 98se at the moment and it's crash resistance is below .25, 2000 has to many compatability issues. Hopefully XP will overcome both of these, and I really don't care about spending 5 mins on a toll free MS support line for a code if I need to!

XP is Super Stable, but there is alot of crap buried in it, and who knows what MS has tinkered in to it..

I will be upgrading to XP but I will NOT be running any of the Luna themes. Just the basic theme for me.!

I might check it out once it finds it's way to my machine, but only as a third option next to Win98 and Win2000. I really prefer Win98 for some reason.

I'll be running XP on two of my home machines and 2000 on the other.

I'll stick with Win2000, thanks. XP, while I'm sure if has some core OS improvements, seems a bit too much like 'Uncle Bill' holding my hand and making it all pretty and simple to do 'neat-o' stuff like organize all my pictures and mail them to GrandMa. Factor in the unwanted 'protection / registration / uber itegration' and it's a pretty easy decision to opt out for now. I'll play with it when I get a new system and I'm force fed the OS by the manufacturer.

Well XP Rocks. I just love the new features and improved interface of windows. wether you actually use Luna OR NOT you will still be buying a really cool operating system. There are a TON of new features in XP that just jumps all over 9x from a great hight ! I think it is a worthy upgrade and for the new things that are in the OS it is certainly worth your time trying it out.

Forget Luna themes, dont let this put you off buying it. Windows XP is not JUST luna.!! it is a whole new Operating system and as Microsoft claims will be more stable and faster than any previous version. Well not sure on the speed side of things, but if it enables me to carry on using windows with out it crashing, and having to restart the computer then it's worth it !

Cat2K, If that's the biggest benefit, then it's lost on me. Win2K - uptime 764 hours 13 min. That's over a month w/o rebooting.

OK, somebody please give me one single advantage XP has over 2000.

Although I read some people say it's so great and it's such a big improvement, I haven't read any so far. So, what's it got that 2000 doesn't?
