Flickering Edges on right side of active window

Hi all,

I am using Windows XP SP3 and have been using Windows Blinds 6 for a couple of years with few problems. I recently purchased the new version 7 and now have a problem, using the exact same skin, which happens to be the included “Molten”.

I have tried changing every setting I can find and still no solution. I have even uninstalled Windows Blinds with Revounistaller, then run Crap Cleaner and re installed, even re downloaded the skin, but still have the problem, which is, A band of colour down the right hand side of active windows. I am unable to post a picture here, but I get the same on whatever program or file is open. What is more annoying is that the band flickers all the time, very annoyingly. In the enclosed picture the band appears a creamy colour, but I have had bright pink before trying to solve the problem.

Windows Blinds shows the following:-

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.1 (build 90 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

The colour band cannot be captured with screen capture programs, and only shows up using the windows included “Paint” program, if that is of any help, as I have the same problem capturing windows with movie captions. I have looked at my video card settings but tinkering in there hasn’t helped.

Any help much appreciated.

If you look at the right side of the picture within the paint/window. You can see a white line that runs down the right side of the active window. I had to take a screenshot of my whole screen because, just using the active window screen did not do it any justice. I can see what you mean though.

That is a good example. I edited a couple myself but am unable to work out how to upload them here However your picture shows the fault although as I said, sometimes that flickering line could be pink, but very annoying whatever colour.

I have tried other themes, although I prefer "Molten" however, after spending two half days on what should have taken two minutes (according to the "about" video - even less) and countless reboots as unlike what the video "promises" I have had to reboot each time, sometimes more than once to get the required theme to show. Other themes have their own faults and I have been unable to find one that works and is acceptable. Other theme's faults include, but are not restricted to:-

Faulty title bars

Illegible fonts

No fonts without mouseover

Dark fonts on dark background

I am really regretting forking out the cash on an upgrade and advise anyone who has an older version and a theme that works not to.

Any further suggestions as to how to solve this problem are most welcome, before I bite the bullet and dump version 7 in favour of my previous version 6. AND dump that Innocuous bloatware/adware "Impulse" too.
