[1.08.0372?]autoresolve from tact battle is fubar

went into a tactical battle with a few spell casters against a single squad unit. (two seperarte occasions)

decided to just hit the autoresolve.

took a look at the battle log.

FUBAR

not only did i lose half my troops -  I cast DOZENS of spells and did HUNDREDS of points of damage that killed SEVERAL squads even though there was only ONE squad of FOUR spearmen.

to give you an idea of how many spells were cast, the 4 spellcasters (2 died) that survived came out of the battle with 3-4 mana each (starting at about 40 each)

soooooo yeah.  fubar is the word to describe the chaos that is the tactical battles auto resolve.

anyone know how to get a screen shot of the battle log?  kinda want to post that madness...

Yes, the autoresolve seems to make casters cast as many of the highest cost spells as possible.  I had two sons with around 200 essence each and whenever I autoresolved, they would end up with 100 or 150 and eventually 0, which was incredibly annoying.

i just ran the same battle again.  it looks like the game was counting each individual in the squad as a seperate unit, each with 75 hitpoints.

End of OneBlackbird's quote

this is different than the old "stop wasting my mana during auto resolve".

this is a major flaw.  it gives a squad 4 times its strength during auto resolve.

going to go test that same fight with auto resolve without going into tactical battle first.  brb

tested: same deal.  auto calc is broken...

Well just tested it for myself. Wont let me even do manual combat atm I may restart. I am running around on my game and I want to fight an opponent with 4 health and I get beat down,so fail there. Auto is real bad atm. So is there a way I can fight every battle manually. Mainly just the low end guys I like 1 on 1 I may be blind so I don't see the option.I looked harder and found threshhold.

tactical1981, in the options page there is a option slider for tactical combat on the right hand side of the options screen, the default  position is 4 drag it to the left to 0 and you have the option for manual battle each time.
