Breaching the Obsidian Gate

Unable to collect the Gildanese supplies

After deciphering the map I split my forces, half to inform the other cities of the plot, and half to move SW to face the evil. I go to tell the other towns and pick up the reinforcements. The first town gives me a boat, tells me to go to Port Hope. Tarth gives me more troops and tells me to go to Gildan.

This is the problem: My town near Gildan has grown so much that the Gildan capital has no land, they are surrounded by my terrain. When I get close enough to the city, I get the dialogue telling me that while Gildan doesn't have any soldiers, they do have supplies - but the supplies don't spawn, so I can't queue the next part of the quest.

I cheated by building a city next to the obsidian wall so I can teleport over it, but I am wondering if I am screwing up the campaign by doing so. Anyone know a fix for this? You know... other than restarting the campaign and keeping that one city tiny.

When I played through the campaign yesterday, I had the same missing supplies that you mentioned.  I was still given the next objective, though, so I just proceeded without whatever supplies I was supposed to have.

If you step on the fire shard with units on the south side of the gate, it should open, advancing the story.

You should be able to continue on to Pariden and up the coast north regardless. All that matters for progress is that the Gilden dialog was triggered.
