[Suggestion] Items and their role in the system
Hello, I'll try and post some of my thoughts on what could be done with items albeit probably pretty bad (and maybe touched upon already) but anyways:
So basically I have a lot of gripes with the current items and how they relate to other aspects of the game and was thinking how this could be improved.
affix randomization. For example I research a tech that gives me 2 new types of swords. Currently what we get is always the same 2 weapons with a fixed attribute in strength and/or speed. What if each time you buy this sword you get a random +attribute to something with it's base damage fixed.
Examples:
+2 fire damage
+2 mana regen per turn
+can cast "fireball" once per battle etc. I suck at these examples
there's really a lot that could be done here and would give a lot of replayability and a good reason to research higher techs.
While we are at techs, let's say an adventure tech could give a probability of spawning some really cool affix when buying a new item. So besides unlocking new map elements you also unlock cool ancient magical properties for items.
Besides buying items it would certainly be a vast improvement if monsters made random drops with the same randomization system. So sometimes you get 300 gildar and sometimes a low defense armor but that has good fire resistance and would serve good against some fiery beast etc.
This is just a basic thought and I haven't gotten much into it so I hope for suggestions etc. from you guys, especially those with a lot of rpg experience. IMO, something like this would give a lot of depth to the game and make researching some techs, fighting thousands of monsters way more satisfying. What do you think?
