Poll: What do you play when you need a break from elemental?

Poll: What do you play when you need a break from elemental?

I'm finding that the game can get a little dry after an hour or so and some of the UI and bugs can build up frustration and I need another game to play to balance this one out.

What do you play when you need a break from Elemental?

I'm playing Batman Arkham Asylum.  It's the perfect counterbalance to elemental.

I am trying the Fall from Heaven 2 mod for Civ4.  Taking some time to get into it because it is so  different from the Civ4 game.  Lot of fun so far.

I play everything BUT Elemental, while it gets patched to a playable and or balanced state. (either is good enough)
Distant Worlds, Lego Batman (free bundle copy, might as well, right?), Tales of Vesperia, Victoria 2.
Also been faffin around in Soul Calibur IV that i found collecting dust in my shelf, forgot i had it lol. Its awesomely deep once you give it a try. I remember when i first bought it, i sucked and ragequit. Now, yesterday when playing it the first time since then, i rocked, pulled off every combo, even the advanced ones

Its funny, sometimes your brain has some sort of re-wiring that makes you insta-good at some games, and sometimes you get insta-bad at others, like you gain and loose skillpoints, in real life. Lol

You know they're putting out strong hints for a Soul Calibur V now.  I couldn't stand SCIV's horrid online though.

Elemental inspired me to play MoM again. It's still a great game 17 years on. Once Victoria 2 gets their next patch I'll go back to that. And of course Civ 5 in a few weeks.

Me too, Elemental is not the only game that has problems with release version.

I pretty much have stopped playing Elemental until the next patch comes out, and started playing Fallout 1 again (haven't played that in eons).  I recently got into the Lego Universe closed beta, so I've been playing that a bit.

On a side note, I was bored, so I purchased a copy of King's bounty through Impulse when it came on sale, and I can't get it to run for more than a few seconds to a minute at a time, so I'm NOT playing that now 8(.  In that regard, I am not a happy camper.

And Fallout 3 in anticipation of Fallout New Vegas

@Haldur: If it's the same problem that I had, you might need to use an old version of the graphics driver, more info here: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=11129

Edit: I just noticed an the end of that thread that the newest drivers should work.

Mostly playing aside from Elemental atm: Victoria II or Starcraft II. Both very great games. Starcraft II for the fast action and nice story. And Vicky 2 is just great if you want to have a longtime experience with developing a country and all its complexitiy (same as Elemental).

Minor playing: Sins of a Solar Empire (I have still one nice longtime save game left -> just playing a little bit from time to time) and Mount&Blade Warband (perfect multiplayer for relaxing or trying something different than strategy games).

Mafia 2 Demo(Its 10 minutes of shoot um up fun  a pop which is fine with me)

FEAR multi player, another fun shoot um up game.

Chess!  The only game that never disappoints me.  It was, after all, beta-tested for over 1300 years before it was released!

When not playing Elemental:

1. my girlfriend

3. myself

4. The Guild 2 Renaissance (even more buggy than Elemental, but then it appears all JoWood games are).

5. Dragon Age

Interesting....where's number 2. What exactly is between your girlfriend and yourself?

2. posting replies on internet game forums with the words "my girlfriend" to gain a false sense of accomplishment

Fixed his list for u

If I could get MoM to run on my Win 7 64-bit machine I would be playing it.  If anyone knows how to make this happen let me know.  I have tried compatibility settings unsuccessfully.  (Possibly my favorite game of all time) Seriously!   The magic was very balanced in this game for one thing.  I also like the way spells are acquired in it better than Elemental.

Last night I played Sid Meier's Pirates for fun.  Was Feeling nestalgic.

I also love Galactic Civilizations 2 with the mod packages.  I still play it frequently.

Just finished machinarium (bought it a month ago for 4€ !! but never played it until a few days ago).

What a beautiful game! Pretty, pretty, pretty and really smart puzzles, though too short to be honest. Don't know if the offer is still on, but people who like good adventure games (or just good head scratching) shouldn't miss it.

I run it on Win 7 64-bit (using DosBox) without problems.

League of Legends is good to get your mind off things.

And its free to play!

Victoria II - once it's patched. Otherwise it'll be some Out of the Park Baseball, some Dragon Age on XBox (still need to finish), perhaps some World War One (AGEOD) or Europa Universalis III.

1. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor on the DS 2. WoW - raid with my guild on live, Cataclysm beta when not. Sadly, the Cataclysm beta is already way more fun than most games out there, even though lots of features and stuff are still missing. They've been slowly adding new quests and stuff. On

Those are great, and Solium Infernum is fantastic in multiplayer. Unfortunately, my group for MPing seems to have fallen apart, I think I may have to kick them again.
