[BUG] Soldiers keep disappearing from my army!

Has anyone else seen this, or know what can be causing it?

I've just declared war and invaded the Yithril, and I've suddenly noticed that I seem to be losing troops but not due to combat damage.

Companies of men are down four to eight a turn, some are left with only one man.

I detected it in another army away from this location a couple of turns ago, but thought I must have been mistaken.

I thought it might be due to higher outgoings than income (it's not like I don't have enough raw cash!), so I went through my cities, took out the unneccesary soldiers and cash consuming buildings so that my economy was in order (see below).

But I still have the same problem and I can't for the life of me work out why!

How am I supposed to field armies if they dissolve away for no apparent reason!?

i dont suppose they are desserting. I think if your army is too large for your economy you will have dessertions.

I know what you mean, but surely the right mechanic is to allow running at a deficit, providing there's enough reserves to pay the wages?

I'd agree with desertions if I was out of cash with expenses higher than income...

If you can not pay them they will leave, lost some that way.

No gold no fight.

So could be some Bug with that.
What about some of the Enchantments that cause negative effects could they do this?

It happens to me too and my incomes are higher than my expenses, so it's not related to wages or whatever. Should the expenses be higher to the incomes it would use your Gildar pools ...

This is probably due to the bug where parties/squads/companies with damage will go down in size if you reload a saved game. That is, if any of your groups have taken damage when you save a game and you reload that game, those squads will be reduced in number and never get back to full strength.

For now, the only work around is make sure all your groups are healed before ending play for the day.

What falconne2 said. I've experienced this too. They're not deserting. It's a bug. A reload sometimes reduces the max units in a squad if they're injured. I've especially noticed it on squads that level when injured, as their max HP goes up but their current HP stays where it is. (i.e. Starts at 80/80 HP, gets wounded in a fight to 40/80 but levels and now has 40/126 or something) That seems to make it more likely.

I had the same problem but I solved it by using only summoned units.

I've seen my armies lose hit points mysteriously, even when not in combat or adjacent to enemy units.  They get into a town and recover immediately all their lost HP so I assume it is a bug and if I've noticed it I'm sure others have too and so it will be fixed over time.
