Game turn refuses to advance

After playing for a few hours today, the game turn refused to advance following a small battle.  The game did not crash, and no error messages were displayed; the game simply refused to go to the next turn.

Game is v.1.06.019

Happening to me too right now.  Let us compare notes.  What turn #?  How many cities do you have?  What was the battle after which it stopped?

Did you happen to start the game before version 1.06 and then continue after updating to 1.06? If so, save the game to a new save file, and load that new file. That is the workaround, although it may not work.

Ok, here is how I solved the problem for me.  See if you have any units doing "Auto Explore"  If so, stop them.  As soon as I found and gave an order to the unit on Auto, it went to the space I picked, and the turn advanced.  For grins, I have duplicted the problem several times and can confirm it happens regularly to me when one or more units are auto-exploring.

This was happening to me, I found a boat that I had on auto explore was "stuck" ie decidded to sit there and do nothing. Once I manually moved it I was able to make turn change. See if you have something like that going on.....

 

By the way that boat had PLENTY of options on where to go next and it had maybe only explored 10% of the ocean, so why did it get stuck?

This happened to me once when one of my units was attacked during the off turn in one of the map animations (ie not tactical or auto resolved).

This started happening after I updated to 1.06.  In one case, on the strategic map I had an auto-exploring boat that was stuck as well (kind of pointless for the map to generate a beach inside an un-escapable bay).  But even after turning off auto-explore (btw, it would be nice for a button like that to appear toggled on/off--right now I have no idea from looking at the button whether I've got it on or not), subsequent turns would sometimes hang.  There is no specific turn when it happens.  Then it also started happening in tactical combat.  I'd choose my familiar, it would run out of moves, then I'd pick another unit and nothing would happen.  Couldn't use any of its action points.  Hitting the next turn button did nothing.  :-(

Please fix!!!

Oh, this is good. Yes, started happening to me when I put one of the units on auto-explore but I didn't realize that.
