Some Combat Issues

Today I have the first big war in my game and have faced many issues - maybe not bugs but annoying things.

 

1st and main - the concept of Grouping units is completely broken. When you have group of soldiers, it should be a set of soldiers who can die and combat and the strength of group will lower. Let's remember Master of Magic - combined units have great attack (Human Halberdiers zomg) - but only when full strength. When the group consists of last wounded soldier it should NOT fight as fully rested battallion.

Now in EWoM the unit fight with full attack and defence until death. This broke all war concept completely.

Okay, its maybe feature. But why the lost soldiers are not revived when unit have healed and rested? I have Veteran unit that lost 3/4 of stack and then they fight alone - see screnshot:

If I heal unit the lost members should revive I think.

 

Next. I've cast Confusion spell on the Troll unit of my enemy - and his attack downed to negative number - really, Troll missed all attacks to the death:

And the last for now - AI have negative credits and flooded me with armies:

It's not a big problem but I think something strange with Empire races. They always have dominated the world, they destroys Kingdom races one by one. In all of my games when all Kingdom races have ~50 strength Empire have ~300. I can defend and even attack Empire but my allies not - and they fall one by one. I think this should be justified.

From something Frogboy said earlier, I think your first situation is only a display error. Even though the card always shows the combined damage/defense, according to Frogboy during an attack each member of the squad rolls its own damage, meaning instead of rolling 1-28 with 4 guys, each guy will roll 1-7. It just looks like the card doesn't update the values as people in the squad die, like it does with hp.

agree completly, but the thing is due to the utter lack of information we have no idea if its as intended or not.

oh and it may be an error, but I still seem to have one unit knocking the hell and doing the same damage.

Might be a bug with the heal spell. They recover men if left to heal naturally, but of course it might just be a cosmetic issue.

And the negative attack with confusion is the spell effect. Wait till a troll shaman casts it on you, then complain about it :P

The wounded unit really fights as full, it can be easily proven - I've lost some new units when striked enemy with 1-10 hp and they retaliate me with 30+ hp with 45 total attack (of all stack).

And one more issue - Military strength of the armies (at top-left and top-right corners of combat screen) are not updated when units die in combat. Update occurs only when combat is finished.

One more issue I've met - Archery units have great advantage against melee on early stages - but they have the same Att or even more, and can be researched early, and don't need any extra resources like Metal or so.

The first bow can be researched at, say, lv4-5 of Warfare - to get bow with attack of 3. But on next level you can - and should - research Adv. Archery to get Bow with Attack 6. Why to use bow with 3 att lol? It's twise as weak, can't deal with any armor - and costs not half but 66% of Longbow.

Hey ppl, it's not a Balance, it's piece of crap.

And one more issue - AI bug or so.

When AI lost the city their units targetted to here SHOULD stop and regroup. In my last game I'm conquerred the enemy border city and 2 turns have 2-5 combats with late reinforcements. It's quite strange to attack city with ~500 defending forces by one-two units with combined power less than 100? But AI did.
