Wow

Good night all.

Seems that all the stuff that happened was the customers fault, Stardock was perfect in how they did things.

Expecting that an Update was an Update how silly of me.

Being worried when a game I paid for over a year ago was telling me it was broken, how Dare I.

For checking for a valid SN After deleting the old program, instead of Before, how could I have programed that so wrong, I'll never know.

But best of all for not Blaming myself for all it, sooner.

Kyro, proved that with his answers, and locking.

I was really excited and pushing the game to friends, hope none of them were working with it tonight.

To all the personal attacks, that will not be addressed, hope they made you feel better.

To Stardock, sorry for expecting you to treat customers well, It will not happen again.

Good Luck all when it is released, hopefully we as customers will not cause anymore issues.

Lee

Signing Off, Flame as you like as it was all my fault

Yeah, this pop-up update window and showing release date today (actually yesterday) in impulse, and sequential removal of beta 4 without being able to install 1.0 or beta 4 back tricked me as well. But I understand that they did not do this on propose, and it is one of those unforeseen beta problems. I consider this simply as a bug. Should I report it in beta forum? :P

Wow very whiny, all this because you can't play the beta anymore and have to wait a few more days to play the release. Grow up dude.

He does not say it is evil, but feels that something was botched and not recognised as a bad mistake. and in all honesty, Kryo is being patehtic on this one

Proof is; every posts about this bad move and the fact that some people are already playing the game are nuked or closed....

I lead a big business too and when me or somebody from my team makes a mistake, we apologise AND compensate our customers or prospects, we do not erase e-mails and proclaim all is normal... that is the true shame in here.

Anyway, what happened is that the implementation of the distribution system was ill conceived, allowing a pre release date access for some while preventing others to benefit from the beta software anylonger (the fact that the beta testing is over, does not mean in any case, that the software can be removed from my harddrive without my express conscent).

Now, what to do about that?

1.) allowing release for the beta testers, everybody is happy and the positive posts about the game will skyrocket over he week end over all gaming sites.

2.) do nothing and act as you never make mistakes, and have a few loud personalities flame the ame and the company over the same pre release week end.

Simple choice to me or even to a marketing zombie. What I am afraid of is for the incident being buries just because some techy wants to keep face and his job.
