Icon/Customize tab missing for .EXE

About 3 months ago, I was able to change icons for applications, now the tab is missing in Properties.

When I right click on .dll, .chm, .config, .txt, etc. I get "Change Icon" in the context menu, but right clicking on .exe, and there's no such entry.

Win7 Home Premium 64bit.

I've read a few posts where folks are having the same or similar problems, but have found no answers or suggestions. Anyone know what's going on, and how to fix it?

Thanks

Just a FYI: I've had bad experiences using IP to change .exe icons on Win7/64 bit. I change just one and some others get changed to a blank(white sheet) icon. I then have to change it back and edit the registry to restore the other ones. This has happened on several occasions.  Your mileage may vary, but I don't go there any more.

Thanks Wizard, but I've not run into that problem, and I've changed several.... but now I don't have the option.

Koasati,

I have a different problem when adding IP to  IP they some time s go in some times they don't and when they do go in it won't change all the folders to that IP it will leave some as win 7 Icons.

as for your problem I have the Icon tab under Property when right clicking on an .exe,  so I would say to uninstall then reinstall it might bring it back.
