I've gotta tell 'ya - told myself if I got my employment situation straightened out (which I did), I'd preorder Elemental.  I did both since Friday.

Downloaded the beta and been messing around quite a bit since last night.  Notwithstanding it's beta status, this thing is awesome.  There are so many influences here I don't know where to start.  That it's a bit RPG, bit turn - based strategy tickles me.

Realize this thing is the most expensive Stardock game (per Brad) - I want to see this succeed in ways that has the major publishers pounding the table in anger.  Brad is absoutely right about word of mouth on Elemental.  It could very well rival Sins in sales.  With a couple of really viral reviews on top of positive WoM it could really suprise quite a few folks out there. 

Since I don't start my new gig until next Monday, I will be in the beta quite a bit between now and then.  Cannot wait until the update later this week.

Comparatively, the final version will be 100X better.  Beta 3C is pretty terrible still.  Beta 4 is a major step up and the final version a big step up still.

One thing I like to point out to people who have never played the game is that it looks much better than how the screenshots are. The game really is quite beautiful... still needs work though.

The potential is here for a great game.  3C is interesting and shows some of the necessary diversity.   But it could be a lot more.   I too look forward to Beta 4 and the commercial release.

Yeah, I'm new here too (a few days ago) and totally impressed. I think I came at a good time too. Also, the community here is just awesome, I've seen nothing like it. Everyone has ideas which are pretty good, the developers listen to feedback and communicate, and people are pretty respectful and open-minded.

 

This is a really good game and it plays a lot better then any screenshot can display. I've played a few things that had some elements of Elemental but nothing with the entire package. I cannot wait until Beta 4. Thanks Frogboy!

Hey Sola, I"m in the same exact boat as you.  Been following this game for a good long while and its just been looking more and more interesting.  Pre-ordered the limited edition today with my first pay check :).  Stardock is one company I certainly don't mind giving a little money to :)
