ObjectDock on X64 Systems... lolwut?

Ok, I have an observation.

When running objectdock 1.9 on 7x64, it says "no, you cant use the system tray".

Ok, fine. So I boot up my objectdock 2.0 preview.

That HAS the systemtray, but no thumbnails for explorer windows. So thats a dealbreaker too.

So, I think to myself, screw it. I prefer app thumbnails so I close objectdock 2.0 and reopen objectdock 1.9 and LO AND BEHOLD THE SYSTRAY IS RUNNING JUST FINE.

What?

So yeah, if you want a working dock with thumbnails AND systray on a 64bit OS - first boot up objectdock 2 with a systray, then close it, then open objectdock 1.9 and everything works.

Heres hoping stardock get the next release out nice and fast. Its getting ridiculous.

Sounds more like you had an issue with the install.

It's been working just fine here for eons...;)

So let me get this straight - on objectdock 2.0 you guys get thumbnails for explorer windows in the dock?

Ok, I found out whats going on.

The current impulse installer is sending out objectdock v2 with CORRUPT dock64.exe files - they are borked.

Tried on 2 different machines with 2 different installs, and repeated the install on my laptop. All sent out the same corrupt dock64.exe file.

SO - as a workaround I copied the dock64.exe file from objectdock 1.9 to the objectdock 2.0 folder and all seems good (except for certain tray icons NOT showing up).

All in all, terribly sloppy for a product that I paid for. I would expect this from free software, but not from paid software.

Get it together stardock. Not good enough.

19 icons in my systray....19 icons in the dock systray.  None missing ergo all there...;)

If you are getting a corrupted download I'll pass on a link to here...for the boffins to look into...;)

I confirm Ashtefere finding about low res icons for 64bit explorer windows/tasks in 64bit OS.

by replacing this dock64.exe file most of the low res icons are now high res. very good job friend!

it's funny that this didn't come from any stardock people.....

Its ok, I just tried the free version of nexusdock to try solve some of my issues.

To be perfectly honest, the free version of nexusdock just annihilates both versions of objectdock that I paid for.

Oh well, lets see what the next version of objectdock brings (if we ever see it).

it's actually what I'm doing.. I stay with nexus dock from winstep that perfectly manages 64bit processes and trays... for free!

Since you're both looking at Nexus anyway, and since I doubt Jorge will post here and say it, I have to suggest you at least try the 30 day trial of Winstep Extreme.  You may very well feel it is worth the money.  Or maybe not, don't know, but there's no reason I know of (uninstalling etc.) to be shy about it :) .
