I thought I read one of Frogboy's posts where he said there would be no tech trading. Yet I was able to do it in 3B. Or is it just the A.I. civs that don't trade with each other....?
More than that, if we are able to tech trade, it would be nice to see pop-ups for each teach we get like in Civ so we know what we just gained. Right now you trade the tech, and then have to go into the cities to find out what new stuff we can do. I hated that in GalCiv2 and it's no different here.
In Galciv2, right-click on the tech name. You'll get details... provided you updated... might need TOA as well. However, if you don't have a fully-patched TOA.... get it!!! 
I just had the original and no expansions, so are you saying they added more in later?
Yes. The game at retail and the game currently are completely different. It's one of the things Stardock is most known for. Their fantastic post-launch support :-]
