Weather Widgets

Needing Help

Hello Everyone,

I am needing help with my weather widgets. I used to run Windows XP Pro but since then I am running Windows 7 64bit. I have all my skin files plus several hundred weather widgets that always worked great for me. Now when I try to load one I get the error that I have an invalid zip code and when I try to enter the correct one it states it is incorrect. What is the best solution to fix this because I really don't want to lose everything I have and want to continue to be able to use all my weather widgets. Any help or an easy fix would be greatly appreciated.

All the old weather widgets are bad. There is no easy fix but to get rid of them and get the new ones. The majority of the new working ones are in my gallery.

Look here.

Thanks for the info but I would like to try to be able to salvage them if I can because they have been specifically designed to go with themes I have put together plus other themes from friends as well. I am trying to look and research to find a solution but no luck so far. I have heard you can edit each weather in the ini to make it work....is that not correct or possible?

Welcome to the club. To fix them would require rewriting the script that accesses the feed from The Weather Channel because they shut the old one off. If you read the forum post that RedneckDude posted, and the two that I am providing, you will see that they can be modified to come in compliance with TWC's Terms Of Service. Somewhere in there is a fix, but it's not for amateurs. Maybe sViz will read this and be able to help you out.

Thanks for the info I will look at these posts and see if I can figure it out. Hopefully like you mentioned he will see this and be able to help me out and get in contact with me or something. I hope there is some kind of easy solution but from the way you describe it doesn't look good.

sViz is a she. And you can find her in the forums and send her a PM. She has made a few new weather templates that work, but yours can't be fixed, without a full rewrite, not legally, at least. Some have posted workarounds that do not adhere to TWC's rules, but to do that would amount to hacked/cracked warez, which is frowned upon in this community.

I am sorry I'm not up to reskinning all the old ones, but as I posted above, I have a slew of new, working weather widgets in my gallery.
