hostages / capturing other players sovereigns kids

would be cool if you could - instead of killing - taking another sovereigns child as hostage (maybe multiplayer only) and then request a ransom for their freedom (this would heavily support the whole fluff around the dynasty idea

Did you just call the dynasty idea fluffy?

Yeah I know, I have just had too much caffeine.  In any event, I like the idea.  Anything that gives more diplomatic options is good.

yep this is a fun idea.  especially if he was powerful.  you could decide if he lived or died.  you might could even sell or trade him off to another sovereign.

A fun spoils of war for capturing an enemy capital would be the immature children of that sovereign.  Don't know how well that fits the world though.

i think you should get some huge drawback if one of your children (which is probably the leader of one of your city) dies, something like moral malus for battles so that you do have an incentive you pay ransom

I've noticed a couple times when conquering an enemy city that I ended up with an extra champion there after I won. Maybe this is already in place :)

Damn! That would explain how on occasion, I too have found my SoV with more companions then I remembered. It does make some sense as well, considering you can go out and recruit, return to your City and exit, leaving them behind.

That does not bode well for the thought though that they, the recruits, should be helping protect your friggin towns...

Hmmm will need to TEST that. Has to be a BUG! I paid them to Die for me... muahahahahaha!
