DO NOT BUY THIS CON!

If you want to pay for something and then not get it - then buy fences

AFTER (not before) you pay, you will be FORCED to install starcock's advertising (complete with popup ads!

If you don't want this piece of crap then you cannot have what you paid for!!

Most programs remove the ads when you pay but not here - here you get more ads ant a useless piece of crap!!!!

You can turn off the pop ups, set impulse not to load at startup and just run it when you want check for a update for fences. You can even uninstall it.

Ahh don't be harsh logic, he's frustrated ... this isn't China.

Perhaps the program creators could look at his frustration and make improvements.

I'm your friend upyou.

^ Judge by his 'nick'.

Look, All Impulse does is download, keep track of registrations, archive (on your computer), update and make available deals and other software you might not be aware of, but might like to see in action.

Your rant might come from frustration, but manners are a plus anywhere you go. Stopping by someone's home to scream at them won't buy you an invitation for dinner, will it?

Just an aside: WinCustomize isn't the official Stardock support site. It does have links for that. Use them. If you're polite, and edit that OP, folks will lean over backwards to help you since it is the weekend and Stardock's closed.

Why not ask a Moderator for help? Why not ask to have this moved to a Support thread (after editing your OP) where it can gain attention of a support person who might be visiting WinCustomize?

If Impulse is in your SYSTEM TRAY  click on it then click on SETTINGS  un-check  SHOW PROMOTIONS .. click OK this will hide the CRAP

then you can If Impulse is in your SYSTEM TRAY  click on it then click on OPEN IMPULSE  and do the same as TASK BAR

If Impulse is in the TASK BAR click on it to open it  then on the LEFT TOP side under the Impulse name and Icon you will see something that looks like a piece of paper with an arrow pointing down Click on the Arrow then click on  PREFERENCES then Un-Check  LOAD IMPULSE ON START UP

This will stop Impulse from loading at start up

to start Impulse after doing the TASK BAR one just go to start menu then StarDock  or  ObjectDeskTop  and look for IMPULSE

not sure which one it is in as I put all my StarDock in one folder  and it is StarDock..

hope this helps

This is from his other thread:

You pay stardock for a program and then you cannot have what you paid for unless you install their advertisements

WHAT A CON

IF YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING THEN YOU SHOULD GET IT!!

I WILL NOT - EVER AGAIN

Yes I have uninstalled all starcock products - wankers

End of quote

I think at this point no help should be offered, his money should be refunded and his account banned.

On Vista and Windows 7, both 32bit and 64bit versions are supported.
Impulse must be installed in order to download and update software

upyou, as Wizard1956 pointed out in #8  Impulse is the required installer/update for Fences and [all of] the other Stardock software.

It is NOT ad-ware as the news facility of Impulse can be disabled and thus not viewed, and once the purchased software has been installed it [Impulse] can be uninstalled, however that is not recommended as it is the [again] required avenue for updating the purchased software.

If and when you were to purchase more Stardock software the ease and practicality of the one single installer/updater becomes self-evident.

egads, I don't believe that he is asking for any of this or probably cares.

upyou, disturbedcomputer gives some good advice on how to manage impulse. I also recommend turning off automatic updates, most updates are for inventory updates and don't have much really to do about anything anyhow. If you really like the products and want to use them then you will have to put up with the BS that goes along with it. There is a plus side to impulse in that it keeps track of your products downloaded and serial numbers for registration. oh, I guess having a complete listing of products available could also be considered a plus thing.

question for the powers that be: is it possible to upload or update a program from impulse without updating all the other superfluous data that goes along with it?
