Sub Menus/Dell Dock

Yes this has probably been mentioned hundreds of times, but I'm here to continue to reinforce this change, Plus I can't see it on the first page of forums, so it's obviously not being pushed enough!

Dell Dock is simply amazing; very simple, contains submenus that look very simple and scroll horizontally, no over the top graphics or animations, just a great storage add-on!

Please bring this program or something very similar to none Dell computers! I would gladly then buy object dock! Until then, I have no intentions of investing in it just to make my computer look like a mac..

Might be a problem, Antitso. SD might have an exclusive contract with Dell preventing SD from using it in the OD+ software.

Impulse Dock can give you something similar, though....why not play with it a bit, tweak it and have some fun.

I thought that might be the case, but restricting future development of the dock from using sub-menus would be an incredibly strict contract and could turn out quite damaging to stardock if other companies get there first.

This Impulse Dock you talk of, I've not heard of it, is it similar to ObjectDock or same thing/different name? And does it involve sub-menus? I have no need to put programs on a hot bar when I can just have them on my desktop, I want an add-on that enable me to put my programs into categories such as music, film, office, etc.

Thanks.

You might look into Nexus Ultimate (new Winstep app). You can read about it HERE.

ObjectDock Plus, tabbed dock; you can create a tab for each, put all your shortcuts in tabs, when a tabbed dock is docked to screen edge all you see when it is closed is the tabs, click tab you want and dock opens. Tabbed dock are sizable like windows are so you can have many shortcuts and see them all when open dock.

I was hoping to find the same thing.  I love Dell Dock.  I use 2 different email programs (Outlook for Home, Thunderbird for work), and play several games and it's nice to have them grouped by Category, then expand underneath.  This way your dock isn't full of icons.  I wish I could find it.  I'm going to try Object Dock Plus to see if that helps - if they can only get their purchasing system to work.

Quite honestly, I wish the Dell dock was available for purchase for non-Dell machines.  I'd gladly pay for it!

Thanx guys, i'll look into each. Though I don't think I can fully know if the program is what I want unless I buy it. Risky money! I'll check for trials etc.

But anyway as the post agrees above, keep the fight alive ha!
