System Requirement reuest

Hi,

No system requirements have been published yet, so I'd like to request, ...no plea, that Elemental has the same system requirements as GalCiv2 (all versions).

Thanks!

B.

You can hardly expect that a game released in 2010 will have the same system requirements as one released years ago.  However they are intending to make it playable on very low end systems.  You just won't get so many of the fancy graphics.

Well, I am able to play beta 1 with a 5 year old computer (directX 90B graphic card with XP). But I have turned off all available graphic options.

I'm guessing after they do more compatibility testing they will be able to talk about it, in the 'coding coding coding' thread frogboy talks about handing builds over to QA for testing soon... so hopefully even if it has high recommended specs the minimum will get lower as more work gets done on stability and performance issues and most common builds will be supported

My natural reaction to people demanding systemrequirements to be the same as a 5 year older game is: "Pfff get an upgrade, cheapskate!"

But I don't care at all about what's needed to start the game. I care about what it takes to MAX it! :)

And if your computer is teh suck, then you can play on clothmap.

Well, I think it's pointless to turn off anything in Beta1, since those options are related to the gfx engine, which is not part of the Beta1 build.

Theoretically, you should be able to play on a very old computer using just the cloth map. I don't know how that's going to work in the final version, but it was mentioned as a way to run the game on netbooks.

IMO that'd be great, why limit the playerbase if you don't have to?

Not demanding, just requesting

I've already maxed out all of the potential upgrades on my PC...

But you can help me overcome the shame and disgrace of owning an old system by PayPal-ing me $800 for a new one. :)

I hope the reqs are high. I can max Elemental, no matter the reqs, with my system. So it's not a big deal to me. I'm guessing that the HP Envy 14 laptop I'm picking up soon will be able to max it as well.
