What OS and version of Object Dock are you running?

OS= Windows XP; Windows Vista; or Windows 7. Which one are you using? Are you using 32 or 64 bit?

Version of ObjectDock, well, there should be something in the OD config screen that tells you which version. Also, are you using ObjectDock free or Plus?

32 bit or 64?  Version 1.9 or the 2.0 beta?  1.9 won't work on 64 bit OS's

P.S He's on XP, guys.

If you have Impulse installed go to your software tab and right-click on ObjectDock and select "Verify Installation"

If it says it isn't installed correctly, run the update for it. Close OD and reopen it and try the start menu launcher.

That happens to me from time to time, and every time I log off and log back on, it works again. You can still use the Start button while the dock doesn't work. Do all your other dock shortcuts work?

With OD version 1.9 the start menu docklet, all OSes, is hit and miss at best, it has been vastly improved in version 2.0 which is currently in Beta.
