I am new to forum and had a thought

Greetings,

I just found out about your awesome game project. I am still getting educated on its details but for what I have read it seems like a long overdue hybrid platform for  pen and paper gaming and traditional gaming. I am so exited to know the best game developers team is on this project to boot. *very happy*

I know this developer team is known for taking the consumers/customers comments into consideration when developing games. I have played NeverWinter Nights since it came out and love the fact that it has been the community developed over the years that has kept the game alive and thriving. With that said I have always wanted to merge Age of Wonders with NeverWinter Nights in order to have the perfect hybrid of pnp and traditional gaming (Hack and slash).

However Elemental seems to promise that and much more! You seem to have expanded into the card trading arena as well as the story development and even creative art development (I am assuming that one will be able to free form ones artistic side in order to create a custom portrait when developing a trading/stat card for ones "heroes", "foes", "Magic, items" etc.

If I may ask a request... *bows to show sign of respect*. Is it at all possible (hope not to late) to have the section that allows one to create ones own custom Faction,  have the ability to create ones  races and classes and magic and weapons(gear) as well? (the more details for the different stats (including artwork and graphics) would make ELEMENTAL the most spectacular platform for all of us old school pen and paper role players/story tellers/adventurers etc. I know there are all kinds of restrictions when it comes to licenses and stuff for material like Dungeons and Dragons and Lord of the rings etc, but if left as a blank tool for customization by the player (just a platform with the tools for us to create our own using your platform but allowing us to plug and play and customize our own rule-set per-say (with in the scope of your game engine of course). With your willingness to create a game that can be played with high graphic demand or low for those of us with low budget computers will make the online multilayer experience global indeed! Now that would be and awesome epic campaign of the minds!

Half the fun is creating ones own hero and if one prefers to be the story teller the monsters creation for the campaign setting.

You guys really have something great here for most games go away because once we(the player) learn all the max stats and best combination's the game becomes boring and we move on looking for a challenge. your game promises to change that by allowing us to create in an infinite way (artwork, stories, monsters, heroes, maps, magic, gear). This allows for a real adventure every time friends get together. Will be hard to find cheats online for something you just created your self making it a true adventure limited only by the creators imagination (if one wishes this) and such creations/mods can be immortalized and shared using your virtual cards/stat system.

I thank you in advanced for reading my long post. I will be looking forward to your release date I can't wait!

P.S. Please include a way to shape change in your game engine. I am a shifter fanatic and love to play shape shifting classes/types. *I pictures myself a Master shifter who fights to protect this almost extinct inbreed magic in Elemental War OF Magic!

Lol no not what I had in mind. I was thinking more along the lines of a sapphire Dragon mixed with Elf :troll: .

BTW thanks for the welcome I am very happy to have learned about this game being developed and for what I have read so far this game might not be like the rest out there with all the missing teeth *and stuff*. Specially after the talk pre release made them seem like perfect smiles.

So far you can customize your Soverigns/Channelers, factions, background stories and units.  This is early in game development though.  The map tool/editor will probably be something we will all(rpger's) enjoy.  You can preorder the game and get in on the beta.  Lets you see how the game develops.  Wintersong has a good thread called Elemental for dummies (2010/04/11) which gives a good summary of the current game.  Even if you don't join the beta, you can still post ideas and stories, etc on the forum to help in its development.  :D An howdy, welcome to Elemental.

Yes with out a doubt I will be ordering this game and if it is as good as I think it will be I will buy a bunch and hand them out to my PnP friends in order to spread the word out. There is a huge potential for a massive Elemental online community as it caters to many age groups and types of play. I am especially intrigued with  the dynasty concept where as my son is interested in the card making and trading aspect of the game. It is fresh and new yet fully interchangeable with the old school concepts such as deities, guilds, clans etc. The idea of using algorithms as a way to make each character unique and perhaps one of a kind, a sort of DNA for PC development and advancement is just brilliant. I can picture myself RPing my way to a union with a dragon in order to get its heritage in to my blood line (dynasty line) and then exterminate all dragons from the map so no one else can have that line. Until someone gets a mutation that gives them the arcane and long thought lost inherit power to shape-shift into other creatures and once again returning the line to others by means of magic. (etc)

I also like the idea of being able to crate cards of ones creations. This opens the door for trading one of a kind units or "lines" in ones dynasty that no one else has. The possibilities for good old fashion table top play with the convenience of a computer, and all it has to offer is just to unbelievable for me after so many years of waiting and hoping that someone with the skill and resources would put a good quality platform together I think Elemental may just be such. Thank you StarDock and its team. Just wait till the word gets out to the PnP community who has been waiting for Wizards of the coast to develop some kind of platform in which to play table top online.  Elemental will be what Balder"s gate and in some ways Neverwinter nights was to that community 20 years ago a breath if fresh air full of new possibilities

As for Wintersong's Elemental for dummies it has been invaluable in getting me acquainted with this game not to mention his posts makes for fun and informative pauses while reading though some long and sometimes mind numbing back archived posts as I try to get myself up to date with the game.

P.S. thanks for the welcome it is a pleasure to join Elemental.
