DeskScapes high CPU usage on certain dreams

Hi all,

I jsut recently did a fresh install of windows 7 x64 after a hard drive failure. I installed everything the same as before the system crashed, and now Im getting abnormally high CPU utilization across both cores when using certain dreams

System Specs:

Gateway P7811-FX laptop

Intel P8400

Nvidia Geforce 9800M GTS

4 Gigs DDR3 Ram

1920 X 1200 Res

windows 7 ultimate x64

64 gig Solid State hdd, 200 gig data drive

 

anyway, the dreams previously worked fine. I am even using the same version of the nVidia driver I was using before 197.16 mobile drivers. Any advice here?

What happens when you verify your DeskScapes install in Impulse?

More than likely, it is due to the dream being encoded in a WMV format. WMV uses more CPU then mpeg dreams.

Also, what are your power saving settings like?  I wonder if it's registering high CPU because the cores have clocked down with Intel's power management software.
