the .dockzip files seem to be converting over to normal zip files when i download them. the zip programs i have are winmount and winrar. is there a fix for this?
If you check the downloaded items again I think you will find that they are just a normal zip file, very few use the .dockzip format when they upload. I say this because .dockzip is it's own file type not a renamed zip file as some other types of skins are, so being converted to a normal zip when it is it's own file type would not seem possible.
With a zip you just need to extract it then move the folder, if for a dock background, to the backgrounds folder in the ObjectDock folder, path in XP is C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds.
thanks this is a big help. when i first got objectdock, i had downloaded dockzip files and those imported fine. i wasnt aware of having to move the files around
