Mods directory nonexistant.

Alright, so I reinstalled Windows XP on my laptop for unrelated reasons, which cleaned the whole compy out. It only took a short while, but all important/major stuff is back. All except the pathway to the Sins mod folders. I know the path, C:/Documents and Settings/USER/AppData/Local/etc.etc. The problem is that the AppData folder doesn't exist, and the people I can usually turn to for help aren't being very helpful. Any ideas?

first of all, you may need to set hidden files to seen (don't ask me why Microsoft has them hidden, I don't know)

next you may also have to go to the mod screen in Sins and select the find mod path directory, this makes the game make the directory

Unfortunately, I've done both of those. The first thing I did when I wanted to install a mod was go into the C: drive and un-hide everything. Then when that didn't work, I thought exactly what you suggested would happen when I checked the mod directory in Sins. Nothing. Very interesting, no?

have you tried typing in the path manually? i've had a similar problem and that did the trick, but i don't know why

The XP path is as follows. You seem to have gotten it mixed up with the Vista/7 path.

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

No, I'm entirely sure that I have been looking at the right directory. Because "USER" is what I meant by my username. Point is that there isn't an AppData folder, or Local Settings, or anything. I might've mis-typed, but I do know what to look for and it ain't there.
