Is my only option to download and install Impulse, then download Object Dock 2.0, then uninstall Impulse?
In short, Yes.
You have nothing to be afraid of with Impulse. It is Stardock's installer/uninstaller/update utility. It is a wonderful program, it is not spyware, and I enjoy using it.
Impulse has made my life so much easier since its release. Don't worry.
Keep in mind that OD2 is a beta,and will be getting updated ,possibly quite often. You may want to keep Impulse around for that,at least until the release version is ready.
Thanks for the replies. I had it in before, for Fences. Simply didn't like the advertising that was shipped through it.
You don't have to view the advertising. I keep mine on the "My Software" tab. And you can de-activate the taskbar ads too.
If you want to stop the sales notifications from coming up, right click on the Impulse icon in your system tray and choose 'Settings'. Uncheck the 'Show Promotions' box.
