DeskScapes = a bit of a let-down.

Guess you can call me a bit of a "sucker", I had purchased Vista Ultimate and expected Micro$oft to actually deliver what they promised.  Silly me..

Anyway; to the topic:  I thought - ah cool "DreamScenes" has now become "DeskScapes"!  nice!  Took a peek - went ahead and purchased it.

Well downloaded a few more animated backrounds to take a look at and "BAM"... ran smack into the:
> "Thank you for trying out WinCustomize.com! We hope you have enjoyed the skins, themes, and wallpapers available here. "

What the Hell?  Even MORE crazy...|
> "As an active user of WinCustomize.com who has downloaded a large amount of free content from our site, we ask that you help support WinCustomize through the purchase of either a WinCustomize Subscription or by registering a Stardock product. "

First of all - I downloaded 5 DreamScenes - apparentely that is considered a "LARGE" amount of "FREE" content?  Looks like I am at some sort of cap now... because I can no longer download anything from the site.  Apparently, even the FREE content isn't free?

I AM supporting Stardock... I have PURCHASED DeskScapes!!!  The software IS registered, so either something is broken - or a bit on the wrong side of things.

Sorry if this seem as a bit of a rant, didn't intend it to be - but yea, guess I am feeling a bit pushed-off by the product at this point (a couple days after purchase).  I was excited to see the product survived the Micro$oft dungeons, but not all that excited to have to pay an annual subscription fee in order to enjoy "FREE" content!

Your profile doesn't show you as a 'Current Customer' so I can only expect that you used a different email account to register here compared to that which you used to purchase.

The dreams are considerably bigger than just about everything else on the site. I don't remember what the cap is, but even at 100mb, that could easily be surpassed with only 2-3 dreams.

As Jafo has said your account seems to be unaware of your purchase which is probably the problem here.

As you have purchased Deskscapes you should be able to download dreams without a problem.  You may need to login using your SD.net account details that you use to login to Impulse and then it should be all fine.

If not a quick mail to support@stardock.com should get it all fixed up.

Looks like that was the problem... my login wasn't working initally; but when I logged in and navigated from here.  I was connected at that point and the download worked.

One of the downloads was "VistaUltimateAuroraHD" at 53MB; suppose that would be considered a LOT of backgrounds/icons. ;-)

The others were closer to 6MB, so not much there.

Not sure what you mean by that Ausvet... but I don't think you would be happy about a product that seems like it required additional subscriptions in order to download additional content.
