Yaaaaayyyy! Mozilla, the random renderer. You can take a fully xhtml/css compliant page and load it into Mozilla 100 times and 20 times out of that 100 it will not render certain random parts.

Sweet meat on the toilet seat.

Aye - I finally had to give up on Mozilla. Aside from it using more RAM than MSIE (and not ever giving it up! Bad, bad memory handling,) but I could rarely get it to display either wincustomize or deviantART correctly.

Shame too - I really like the browser, otherwise. I like it's tabbed browsing the best.

i used mozilla for awhile myself, and while I never had any problems with rendering, it was just easier to open up IE. It's integrated into everything. I miss tabbed browsing, perhaps the next version of IE will support that feature

What I wonder is what happened to Phoenix? First there were new releases all the time,
and now it is so quiet...

But Mozilla really is a good browser, I hope they don't stop working on it now that it is so
close to surpassing IE in features & coolness.

i use mozilla and phoenix all the time and have never had a rendering issue with deviantART or WinCustomize. in fact, what qrayg speaks about, i've never experienced that at all.

Something about the tables, is all I can figure. A good portion of the time with Wincustomize it likes displaying the left and right borders about 5 times larger than they are, or simply not displaying them at all. Then there's the times it simply refuses to display the graphics in the tables at all.

I've not had good luck with Mozilla - which is odd, because most people I talk to don't have the same problems as me. O.o

For those wanting Tabbed Browsing for M$IE, check out Netcaptor, it's a tabbed browser that sits ontop of the M$IE shell..... Works well, updated regularly, and the Developer seems really cool. Check it out it's worth the $20 to register it.

One the subject of Mozilla, I thnk it's a fine little browser, have to give it credit, and it's Skinnable. Been using it on/off since milestone 7 or 8, and it's done nothing but get better.

Hyatt and Blake (the main phoenix programmers) are busy with other things at the moment. Hyatt is working on Safari (Apple's new web browser), and Blake just got accepted to college. Pinkerton and PCH are doing some work on Px right now, but it's moving a lot slower than it was. I think they're still hoping to get .6 out sometime this month though.

I found the same with Mozilla butI just might try the updated version later but, I will have to say I will probably return to the ever reliable Opera. Its stable, it has tabbed windows, it has mouse guestures, its skinnable and its the fastest browser I've come across. What more could you ask for?

Another one to try for those wanting Tabbed Browsing, Crazy Browser (http://www.crazybrowser.com), it evens has built-in pop-ad blocking that actually works. It's a very rare occassion that an ad gets through. Best of all, it's free.

I've been developing websites professionally for 10 years now (since 1992) and I've used Mozilla for testing, as I test with all browsers; and I've come across the random rendering problem ever since version 1.0.

Mozilla has potential but I really think that they need to get the rendering engine down before adding all of these little bells and wistles. It seems like every time that they add a feature, something important breaks.

I just wanted to add my voice to those who use Mozilla regularly without problem. Of course I'm not a web developer,so I may be missing subtleties.

The only problem I've encountered with WinCustomize is the "return to the page you were on before link" after I log in.

If you like IE but want tabbed browsing, you can also try "MyIE". It's another front end for IE and has tabs, is skinnable to a degree, and you can have it load up all your favorites when you start browsing. It's pretty nice.

I never really got into Mozilla. Tried various versions of Netscape, though, and couldn't stand it. Also have used Opera (I like Opera to a degree, but always end up returning to IE - and now IE with MyIE!
