nice game but lame players everywhere?

just got the game last weekend and its quite fun. but whats going on with the ppl playing it? is the average age like 12 or something? whenever i made a server labeled "for new players" you can be sure that ppl with hundreds of matches jump in hoping to increase their win ratio. so if you suck in this game vs ppl of same experience, its normal to farm newbies so your winratio looks better?

just hosted 2 matches today and already had to kick rembo666, Jonn_Spb_rus and some others with hundreds of games played. and oh joy, some ppl have have like 10k minutes playtime but no matches played? a guy called CPCcwr sneaked in and joins the newbie server, less then 20 games played, but then you realize he has 7.100+ minutes played.

is this normal here or just a bad day? sorry for the wording but i would expect this from a puberescent or someone mildy retarted.

is there a way to see the stats ingame? i'm playing in windowed mode now and check stats on the second monitor, but that feels like a poor workaround.

why not let them play online vs AI to fake their winratio? at least they dont bother newbies then. the ratio wouldnt be more fake that way then by farming newbies. except that they dont demotivate newcomers.

edit: and another of those ones sneaks in. NCoE with 60 games but almost 20k minutes? i directly disconnected but it counts anyway? i thought there is a 3 minute rule?

click the player info panel on the bottom right side. then you see stats.

btw. its great that you play beginner games. it would be even better if you joined the ventrilo server where are player that help you increase your skill very fast. you will find the ip somewhere in the forum. and very important: if someone tells you what to do, do it. dont ask, just say yes and do it. if it was wrong you can complain later but first do it!

thanks, ill look for that vent server. i usualy do it quickly if someone says something, if he isnt a beginner like i. got to check everyone stats anyway to avoid being farmed. except when its something that isnt possible with the build im trying (like telling me to "spit them" on UB with ooze build). trying the tutorials from the sticky.

about the bottom right ... omg    thanks a lot. i could swear i clicked that before and nothing happened.

edit: just checked, it doesnt show time played or fav points, or did i overlook something? need to see that to avoid those ppl with only 10 games but 20000 minutes played (betaplayers?) when trying to host a beginners match.

Ooze beast is really strong but you can only really use it if there isn't any enemy TB or UB (or Rook, midgame) on the field. Ignore everyone who says it sucks ;)

yes, i realy like the ooze beast build. its so quick which makes picking the right fights so much easier compared to rook (tried the tower whore and the pure aggro build). ill keep an eye out for those 3 you mentioned  when i use it again.

@shiro maybe most, but not all as i have seen. i wouldnt mind much if i could reset my wins/losses when i feel i know the game (or when starting again after a pause or whatever). but as it seems every win/loss is recorded for good, so that makes it rather bad. not a good design decision if you want a community to grow imho. ppl should be able to reset their stats and ingame the played time should be shown so they can still be identified.

I second hedgie on ooze build, its a good build especially for low to mid level games.  i went on a crazy win streak when I first tried it and still had only a couple online games done, I say stick to it for now.  I've played this build only until I got destroyed by the standard spit ooze save spit ooze, which is your next step:D

actualy someone pointed me to that build you mention yesterday (spit ooze none spit ooze) and it seems nice. a little less health and slower but overall more useful i guess. a lot better then the hit and run build on the forum, which i was told isnt good at all. seems a lot of the builds there are more theoretic according to good players.

builds depend on playstyle and other dgs in game.  I would not bother with hit and run, maybe it worked early when people were not getting monks as much.  Ooze is a must, it is your responsiblity for own good and for your team (damage + 40% attack speed reduction in 3v3 fight is huge).
If you like spit ooze deal, your 2 main favor items are botf and bots.  Given that you did pure ooze im assuming you are botfing it.  Personally I like using Blade of the Serpent instead (works great with oozing), leaves you not having to get mana items and you can perma spit, but you g2 change your playstyle, especially early since you will have 800 less hp.   Most people do Blood of the Fallen tho, both are good

Actually most annoying people are those that don't know english. They just play alone doing nothing. I just played a game where sedna player was healing only himself. And after raging "HEAAAAAL MEEEEEEE" he was like "no speak english".

The exception, of course, is Korean people. Three minutes into the game, they'll be level 20 with ashkandor and all father's ring as DA.

lol at both quotes,

i had a sed just like that and I remember typing heal me in the exact same manner:)  I guess its a natural response .. if someone can not understand heal me, typing it in caps will probably address the problem.. doh.  You bought your Rosetta Stone online aswell i take?:)

Better than being a spit beast and constantly making vomiting sounds over vent. XD

My friends and I used to play this game where one of the characters had a spit move like that :D

Much lulz ensued.

If the other team's beast is on Vent and I get a spit interrupt (which I've gotten pretty good at) I yell 'Choke on it!'

Ha, good one, Captain Rhodes.  Wish I could interrupt Spit sometime - lag pretty much usually ensures that the only thing I'll be doing that to is teleports and cap locks.  By the way, Teseer, I use and enjoy your TB build quite often.

There are plenty of jag offs in the community, along with cool players.  Just like anywhere else you visit - work, school, the gym, etc.  Make a list of cool players on your friends list (Shift + Alt in lobby).  Not sure if there is a non-friends list for you to track the knuckleheads, but you could always keep a journal.

I often join noob only labeled games if there's nothing else to join, even though I've got a few hundred games under my belt.  I get schooled so many times that I often feel the need for a self esteem boost by joining a noob game, only to get hammered again by pros posing as noobs.  Stats really can't be relied upon, but that's not news.
