Teleporting Aura not displaying when zoomed out: fix needed

Seriously, i can't understand why in h**l the teleport aura doesnt get rendered when you're moderately zoomed out of the battlefield.

It's not like it's a wtfomg high poly model that would bring perfomance to a crawl, it's a simple animation, and it's an extremely important aspect of the game. I lost count of the times i got killed cos the damn animation didn't show the whole fricking enemy team teleporting into the flag im capping to wtfr*pe/kill me, just cos i'm zoomed out to have full map awareness.

This is even worse in big maps like Leviathan, Zikurat, etc, where playing zoomed out is a must to know what's going on. I know, "get used to it and zoom in when capping an enemy flag etc.", but that shouldn't really be necessary.

BTW i play with all graphic settings maxed out so it's not that. IF anyone knows how to fix it, or could develop a mod it would be extremely helpful, since i guess we're pretty much done with official patches.

First of all, I think by saying "aura" you mean the animation effect.

Secondly, it is not a problem or a bug, imo. The game was designed like this.

Thirdly, there is a solution, as you said so yourself, dont zoom out in uncapped flags. Wait at least 3-4 sec, for the cap to turn yellow.

Lastly, About big maps like Ziku or Levi, you are absolutely right. You cant play in these maps competitively, if you never zoom out. You just wont be able to keep up and watch for portals, flags etc. But on cataract you can, by moving the camera all the time, panning through the whole map, or at least the key points like the portals for example.

 

p.s. As far as I know, there isnt such a mod, to change this.

So you're basically ranting because you don't want to move your finger ~two centimeters forward, then ~two centimeters backward ~3 seconds later?

Still, it is hard to see teleports with normal settings when clusterfucks of creeps are swarming the map.

Yup, that's my point. It doesn't matter whether you play on normal or low settings. You need to expect teleports if you don't control the flag. It's not a matter of zooming in and out. You won't be able to see teleports endgame anyways.

When I host a game, I always set the flag capture rate to fast. I get 1 in 10 complain about it, but I think it makes the game better. If I start capturing a flag, it can't be telported to fast enough. The only way the opponent can teleport to it is by starting the teleport before I get there.

I agree that there is a problem with the animation. I don't agree with most of the replies that say just zoom in more. Sure that is a temporary solution, but it is still a bug and should be fixed.
