What do you need to work on?

What do you need to work on?

Knowing your weakest point always helps when it comes to improving on your last game. Did you blank when you should of blanked?

So, I ask: What is your weakest point in Demigod?

Mine: I feel I do great when it comes to actual skirmishes but think I fall short when it comes to total map awareness. I feel the issue is more then likely due to being really stoned and zoning in on the actual combat.

But, that is what I need to work on. I plan on trying to have a port scroll on me more often as well.

Anyone else? :)

I've thought I was on my way back to the Cit once so I was watching my allies do their thing and all of a sudden I heard the heartbeat. Then...

FIRST BLOOD HAS BEEN DRAWN!

I guess I made some extra click next to their portal and died to the first tower and two guarding the portal.

At least I wasnt worth gold

Minion hot keys make this even worse. "Minions suicide you go shop.... nooo I clicked 'm' not 'n' NOOOOO 'First blood has been drawn' ..."

When I play oak, there are two instances when I'm not watching myself (I play really zoomed out and I have decent map awareness), but the two are my major weaknesses.

1- When I shield-tele to portal. I usually watch my teammates and offer something like "omw after crystal" or something. A few times my shield has been interrupted and Oak gets pounded on, and then there was the game with hedgie and his perfectly timed swaps that landed me an inch ahead of where I was on the map and him at my crystal.

2- When I port to an ally thinking there aren't any demis around. This is usually when I have control of a flag and after a creep wave, or just when there aren't any enemies around in general. Again, a select few times, an enemy oak pops in with a pen, and I'm hovering over my ally with shield pressed waiting for a target, only to find that I'm actually the one in danger and I didn't move anywhere at all. This usually takes me a few seconds after the "wtf why's my HP going down and why aren't I by that tower?"

no what I really hate is when I click forward to attack with my minions and either queen moves forward revealing her location or they all do. Or I click back to retreat but queen stays there and the minions stop attacking and retreats.

Im guilty of that myself. If I start a port and I think I'm alone, I'll start looking around or planning my next move.

Then I notice I'm at half health with no chance of escape, lol.

I think I've found the perfect angle/zoom to play for cataract. Zoom  out so that you can just see the middle flag from the start, then turn your map counter clockwise about 35 degrees. Now you can see everything in front of you and beside you. You can flick your camera over a bit if you need to tele to defend your gold flag/portal.

I wish I could stay at one angle. I'm constantly changing to see things best I can. I can give myself whiplash if a Rook is near me, lol.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe silence causes the ability to be on cooldown so you can just cast as soon as it is off.

You suffer full followthru and cast time penalties (so effectively a 1 second stun) and lets me get in range to pounce

So its not a true interrupt. And no, you can just use a move command to cancel any penalties.

Meshing with different "Good known" players.

Some people I just don't play well with because I don't know what the hell they are thinking.

Others... it's like an instant clique, we've never played before, but we don't even need to talk to each other to know what we are doing.

I'll tell ya. I try to talk during a game, but sometimes I miss somethings I'm doing. I've had a lot of ports/Wand of Speed sprints to people only to have them mid retreat.

I'm an odd TB, I'm very aggressive and most people aren't used to that.

I was hoping to get more people to post what they are weak at.

My goal of this threat was for anyone looking to improve at DG to have some ideas of what to look at by seeing what more experianced players are trying to improve upon.

Edit: Fat Finger'd, yo.

Obiwhan and I always seem to lose when we play together, but that's probably because we always get random and I always get QoT. Every time I tried to shield him he misted.

LOL!

Thats one negitive part of mist, I spose. Bout time it had a negitive part!

I know what I need to improve on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uh...

wait....

nvm.........

not dying????????

maybe????????????????????

I think I need to die more, I might not be playing aggressive enough

If you aren't up their ass to the point that you can let them know when they are gunna have their next shit, then you aren't aggressive enough.

Occassional tunnel vision is probably my biggest problem :andrew: . That's generally when I get so focused on the person I'm about to kill that I miss some1 porting in behind me and ruining my fun :( haha

Side Note: Hi official forums.

My biggest prob if im too agressive. I always think i can beat ppl :P. Sometime is good but lot of time i got kill. Depend of the day i play. Some ppl will confirm that im sure :P

Aggression is my favorite part. You know your being too aggressive when your growling at the monitor when pushing.

I've never dun that though. Nuh uh.

I always feel so guilty getting Erebus in random games, you can be ridiculously aggressive with your giant health pool, slows, armor debuffs, healing, teleporting, stuns, and direct damage abilities.

I still say Mist is the best skill in the game. No one will be able to change my mind on that.

Shield is so much better than mist.
