Some thoughts, problems, comments regarding beta 3 & the hotfix

First thing I'd like to get off my chest: Giving Missions to pirates is awesome. It's just fun. <3 I am, however a bit concerned if it's not a little bit overpowered. Yet, for a 1000+ pirate fleet, your probably need to hold the upper hand anyway.

What I wonder is, when do pirates retreat? I seems to take kinda long for them, after the job is done (bombarding planet), to either attack anything else in the gravity well (if at all) or leave it. That's annoying if you want to colonize the planet (still nice to steal planets from AI allies, like the one with artifacts).

The way your standings with other factions are presented is very confusing. I noticed several things here:

Sometimes a pact significantly lowers or raises your standings. Regardless of wether this happend or not, pacts are often canceled immidiatly again regardless of sufficient mutual affection <X3 It kinda seems to me that only the envoy bonus really counts when it comes to determin wether or not you can agree on a pact with another player, although the interface makes it seem like you can. Possibly a bug here? I often need a much higher standing than displayed to enjoy the benefits of this expansion  :(

I really love the new features, yet, they seem still to be a little buggy and/or confusing. I will continue experimenting with them and post results here. If anyone could confirm what I assumed, that would nice too.

The pirate missions are awesome! However, if you end up sitting on a pile of credits, you can definitely get some very strong pirate fleets out there.

Not sure what pirates do after they bombard / obliterate everything in the gravwell. I thought they always just stay behind and guard that gravwell much like the rebels that surround the various planets at the start of the game. Using them to backstab your ally is a great use as well, though it's a good thing you can't do that in an ally-locked game!

Pacts themselves shouldn't change standings much. I'm not sure if getting a pact locked down on both sides would cause an increase, but I do know that if the pact breaks from their side (either from the AI player calling it off, or losing enough reputation so that the pact auto-breaks), you also loose standing as well. I've encountered the bug where I get to form pacts with an AI and then, a few seconds later, he breaks it off, resulting in a loss in standing overall. Bleugh!

Haven't had any problems with getting the pacts formed in the first place though. The pact requirements have been lowered in the most recent Beta 3 fix; if both me and my partner have 11.50 standing between each other, we can get those first two pacts out in a jiffy!

I don't know when the pirate leave. I sent them to an allie planet I was preping for going to war with (It's a computer you don't have to give the respect of not double crossing). And I sent a scout ship a couple of minutes later non of the pirate ships where there any more and I had the pirate fleets on overwellming. I saw the fleet with over 100 ship go in. then a couple minutes later poof they were all gone I didn't see any allie ships go in no starbase. No deffences.

My only complaint on bugs when I try to use the mission on other players it crashes my games that's with the latest edition of the beta

I recently have seen, like today recent.  That there is a health drop bug or something.  I was playing foreign invasion 3v3 and hit the worm hole and went head to head with a hard AI and I drop in with about 5 cap ships, he has oh.... maybe a fleet of 1 cap(level 2advent) ship and 20 other random ships.  I lost a level 5 marza faster then I could realize that they had not even used there abilities yet.... The other ships of mine had perfect health and perfect shield.........I was very sad for the lost of my fine men and woman... Today is a dark day in the empire.
