which type are good against others?

There was some questions about counters. Basically it goes:

              LRF > LF > Carriers (fighters) > LRF again.    Thats the basic triangle. 

Its pretty obvious that LRFs (Long Range Frigates: Javelis LRMs, Illums, Assailants) are good against LFs (Light Frigates: Cobalts, Disciples, Skirmishers), and that LF are good against Carrriers, etc..  The following is a more complex expansion:

                                                             >  LRF
                           >    Flak     > (fighters) > Scouts
Scouts > LRF > LF > Carriers           | 
                           >  Support          v   
                                              (bombers) > HC's
                                                              > Structures (& SBs)
                                                              > Cap Ships

LFs are good against Flak, Carriers and all of the higher tech Support (repair/disable) ships.  Carrier fighters are good against bombers, as well as LRF and Scouts.  Carrier bombers excel at HC (Heavy Cruisers), planet Structures and Capital ships.

I don't like how the game has scouts as "good vs none" but it is used as a counter to Long range frigates.

 

I think scouts need to spawn with auto attack enabled lol

@ Shunmaha, you can look at some of my threads to see my view on this. Basically, Scouts being able to defeaut LRF is a major oversight on the developers' part but since it 'fixes' the LRF balance problem (which for some unfathomable reason the developers STILL haven't fixed), many people are happy with the Scout imbalance.

So many question on counters recently!   So I am going to bump my old post.
Hopefully the spacing is consistant for all, and it all lines up correctly.

(although I don't like it's confusing counter's flowchart by VoltC, and believe that portion is incorrect).

Edit:  There is one change to this chart (and SithLordAJ's) introduced in the 1.12 patch (on 5/24/11), Bomber damage to CapShip was changed to 60% from 75%.
