if anybody sees any issues with the build please say so...this is my first time building a pc. im doing it cause im tired of getting ripped on systems that are pre-built pieces of crap. this way i can get my monies worth this time. having this sytem built by someone else would cost me $3000.00

i dont play games too much but i like to sometimes...mostly ill be using the systems for music production and graphic arts

Thanx in advance for your expertise

About the only thing I can see there is that some people would recommend getting a higher rated PSU... for an i7 and a 9800GT a 750w might be considered a tad underpowered.  Many i7 owners are saying 1000w is the minimum, and if you want/need to add more hardware later, RAM, HDD's, etc, it might be the way to go... and definitely if you want to overclock down the track.

Another thing, I personally would go with a 1 tb HDD, rather than a 640gb... more storage space and could save on having to add another internal HDD anytime soon.

Also, you might want to look into a GTX200 series graphics card... the lower end ones have come down in price considerably and would give you slightly better graphics performance.  I have a Galaxy 9800GT 1gb and find it more than adequate for my current needs, but later I may need better and would look into a GTX200 series card.

I didn't notice a DVD ROM drive (go SATA there, faster transfer rates) , but other than that, it looks like a nice build.

it isn't my money so i have no right to question.

on the HDD....go with a Caviar Black vs the Blue.....it's only a couple dollar difference in price and the 640 GB Black is the top of that line. You do need a DVD-R as a minimum.....I lke the LG's and Samsungs.

I've got the HAF 932 and I love it......

I would hold off on the external sound card until I found out how the on board sound does. I doubt it would be any better.

I would also scratch the Northbridge heatsink cooler off the list...I wouldn't want to try and replace what that board already has built in.

If your looking to better cool the system, you may want to check into a better CPU fan than what it comes with but it may be fine if your not planning to overclock.

ok well thanx guys.....the reason im only opting for a 640 gb is cause i have drives all over my house, i have another 320gb and a 100gb and a few other small ones...though i will look into the caviar black, i didnt see it up there as i must have forgot it, but im getting the new corsair cooling unit for the i7 and a 1000watts psu is overkill to me...i talkied to a few people who have the i7 and i think the top ill go on a psu is 850watt, dvd-r i have 4 of them laying around so i dont need those. and the onboard sound will definatly NOT be sufficiant for mixing music off my pc. i have to have a sound card for that...i will look into that gtx200 series card too...and teh northbridge heat sink i dont know how the hell that got there...lol...i will not be overclocking this rig unless someone who knows what they are doing can do it for me...other than that like i said i will mostly be used for graphic arts and music production and mixing....thanx alot guys...some good stuff to go on...ill look into what you guys said
