Can't log-in, can't change nickname, huh?

So, folks...

 

I've played a grand total of 1 games online (and lost :P) and now I can't log-in. I'm sure that's only temporary for whatever reason, but there is a more pressing manner. Why can't I cange my nickname (or where should I do it?).

I didn't choose it, it was just there, based on my email address. And I don't like that. I've changed my nickname in Impulse community, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

 

I'd be grateful for help in this matter.

im not sure if its the same problem we r having but im unable to login in either.

and to make it even weirder, /opengames.asp doesnt work for me either. but prior this i was in custom games and when i tried to host i was getting a NAT facilitator error massage thingy...

so is anyone able to tell me wats wrong?

 

edit: this is wat i get when i try to load opengames.asp ...

The change should carry over to the game within 24 hours (the login should change immediately, only the displayed name will lag behind). If it does not, contact support@stardock.com about it.

Disappointed... It's been days (well, it's only has been a week! you wouldn't imagine you can make a profound change of this proportions within a week, would you?) now and nothing happens. Even emailed support@stardock.com only to get my ticket closed without actually resolving the issue!

I like Impulse, I really do, but it has LONG way to go before it'll become anyting like Steam.

The response you recieved on 12/09/09 is the correct procedure for updating your nickname, and since that addressed your only issue, the ticket was closed.  For whatever reason (and this is far from the norm), the servers didn't update your nickname properly. You sent us an email about it on Saturday, but there's no one here on the weekends, so please keep that in mind when contacting us in the future.  I've informed the proper people, and they will be kicking the servers for you as quickly and fervently as they can.

Yes, I know it's the proper procedure. I contacted Stardock in the first place precisely because I did exactly what I should and nothing happened. As kyro said, the displayed name will lag behind and I waited some 3 days before submitting a support request. I should have been more clear about that in my email...

Los7man: The servers have been kicked, and you should be good to go.  If you're still having trouble, try deleting your Game.prefs file located here:

YOUR USERNAME\My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Demigod

Sorry it took as long as it did, but hopefully you should be squared away.  Let us know if there's anything else you need.
