What is the source for your install? Digital Distribution or DVD?

I haven't seen this error before.  Please shoot an email to support@stardock.com with some details.  You should probably move this to the demigod technical support forum (click on edit, then select that forum in the drop down, enter a reason and save).

Additional details MIGHT help here in case someone has encountered the issue before.  Do you have the retail disk of demigod or are you installing online through impulse?  What OS?  32 or 64 bit.

Running on XP. Using retail. and have 32 bit.

It pops up the install wizard and once it reaches 100% just before the actual wizard pops up it gives me this error.

Could not find the demigod tech forum. is it the actual site for demigod or on here?

I've had this problem with another game. Turns out the disk had a bad scratch, but not bad enough my Game Dr. couldn't fix after several run throughs.

I believe your problem is with the disk its self having some sort of damage or is unclean given it happens during install, but I wouldn't rule out the drive it's in either. I suggest cleaning the disk and the drive and see if that works.

Also, heres the tech support forum for Demigod: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/forum/526

Heya Drake,

If it isnt the disc seriously consider it being the disc drive. They will do this selectively as they degrade. Try installing through a different drive/computer. You can also attempt to copy the disc to to a folder on your system which may help determine if it is an installer issue.

Warnstaff mentioned such as well. I've had a few drives with this problem over the years, some discs will work fine while others may not.

End of Drake54's quote
CRC errors are always some kind of read errors somewhere in the pipeline from the disk to the hard disk.

  • The DVD maybe broken.
  • The error correction of the DVD drive is unable to compensate broken or 'dirty' parts of the DVD.
  • The DVD drive maybe broken.
  • The SATA/PATA controller maybe broken.
  • RAM is running not well under their current settings (whatever they are).
  • RAM maybe broken.

You can test RAM with Memtest.
