To the developers and all the folks who had a hand in Sins of a Solar Empire.

I have absolutely no idea if the people responsible for this game view these forums but I`ve been so impressed I just wanted to drop a note here.

I missed out on sins at launch and to be honest only found out about it through a friend, I`m abit of an RTS nutt thanks mainly to Total Annihilation back in 1997 and have pretty much tried every major RTS created since then, so im not entirely sure how I missed this one but you have my embarrassment and apologies...

O:)

Ive been playing PC games for nearly two decades, and if there is one thing I have noticed, its that the more complex they get, the buggier and more problematic they become. Memory leaks, back to desktop crashes, lost save files, horrendous slowdown during battle sequences, you name it, Ive seen the lot, and this is why I am so totally impressed with your title...

I bought the game two days ago and took to it like a duck to water, Ive been running it now for 27 hours straight...  no reloads,  6 hard CPU players, 108 planet map and it just goes and goes and goes. huge fleets, great battles, admittedly ive had the snott kicked out of me here and there but on the whole its just such a rock solid game. the only fault I could find was that the print screen button had to be reassigned for screenshots to work...  If only all my titles were that simple to sort... (EA Games: Challenge...  your patience)

You support for the community seems very good too... (perhaps you could give infinity ward a phone call and let Robert Bowling know how its supposed to be done...)

Definitely the best space based title I have played since Homeworld 2. Thanks a bunch.

my one complaint...    your taking too long to make a sequal! ;P

p.s.  you have no spell checker, I cant cut and paste this into word to sort it out and my spellings horrible...   so please excuse it this once. :)

Yeah I said something like this in one of the forums, Ironclad do a great job in keeping gamers happy, I was a little dispointed with no cmapagn, but with the amound of effort, and budget they had, they came up with one cracking game.

Like other games, it does have problems,, but consistantly ICO are fixing them, and sooner or later, all the problems will be ironed out. well done ICO and STARDOCK :).

On a side issue, HOW THE FUCK does a person shoot through a brick wall with a pistol to kill me on modernwarfare 2?

If the game is very stable now, it is simply because the numerous update in the last two year ( have stop to count them )...

About sequel, it is maybe a little early... soon, Diplomacy need to be released... second and last expension pack...

By the way, since you are new, not sure if you know about it but there is a expension called Entrenchment who was released some time ago... it add starbase, mine, and some new ship... it really change a lot the gameplay for the best...

yeah, even if i criticize Sins and its IA behavior quite often, it remains the best Real Time space game ever (and yes, better than the homeworld saga). I am really looking forward for what you Ironclad guys are going to do next.

nooooo.  as good as homewrold I said, and that is indeed high praise. there has yet to be one better than the homeworld series. perhaps ironclad will manage that feat with a sequal.

on a side note I do wish someone would make homeworld 3 :(  *sigh*   one can dream i suppose...

It is a fantastic game.  Get Entrenchment if you don't have it already.  You'll love the game even more.

Hi, I've been playing PC games since win 95 came out and yes, Sins & entrenchment are great games. excellent RTS games in fact. Only thing i really have to B*tch about is 2 things...

1) most other games run in 'Program Files' aspect of windows and you just add a 'mod' folder to the game and viola!!!!! u can put mods in that work whenever u want them too:)

Unfortunately with Sins & entrenchment, You do not have that simplicity. the makers of the game set it up that u have to put any MODs under a super-secret Doc&setting filing, that is secret and confusing to say the least! NO, actually, i want to be very blunt here. IT SUCKS!!!! ITS STUPID & IDIOTIC in the extreme!!!!!! THere already is a MODing convention for where mods go in almost every other kind of PC game, but for the makers of Sins... WTF??

If u wanna standout from the 'rest of the herd'.. then make an awesome game :D... oh wait u did that by creating Sins & and entrenchment, but u f&cked it up with ur MODing screwup.

2) I really like the fact that the makers fix the bugs so quickly and that you patch both games so they get to become 'flawless' :D :D I can't praise that enough!!!!! BUT, make it so that the people who take the time to make MODs for Sins & entrenchment, that their mods KEEP working every damn time YOU fix something!!!!!

MODders are a very beautiful resource and a very useful one. Please DO not be like some of your competitors who drive away the Moders by making it difficult to add MODs to the playability of your fantastic games.

Yes, some peeps will think i'm 'oh so mean and should be banned' for talking the truth, but no one seems to have said this or if they had No one at Ironclad nor Stardock have said they will fix this problem.

I certainly know how much time and energy it takes to make a MOD of a game. i've made a few in the past. THey are all labors of love for a game and I believe it's very WRONG the fashion in which the game degisners have set up sins so that MODS constantly need to be redone so that the multitude of patches that have come out keep 'invalidating' the MODs.

It shows that maybe the people at Ironclad are more like the people at EA games who are just in it for the pure profit and not to make great games that are profitable.. AND THEIR IS a difference and more importantly their had better be a difference in those 2 statements.

ANyways, i hope everyone has a great holiday season :)

Does that mean Sins 2 is in the works?

Seriouly I like this game too (maybe too much), this is the first game other than Simcity 3000 that I actually bought.

What I have to say is confusing is that you find this confusing at all?  every OS for the last decade has had a c:\documents and settings\"your username"\apps\local folder where unique game files are stored.  Homewrold uses it, supcom, freelancer, hell dozens of titles, if you want to moan I would be moaning at the modders for not setting the auto installer to correctly install the mod for ease of use, Its not difficult by any means.

to the makers, I hope you are making a sequal, I will be amongst the first in the que, but for the love of god,  MULTI CORE SUPPORT!  im having real problems now my games gotten larger and my pc is something of a monster, no excuse for any game made after 2007 to not support at least two cores  :(

the game is stable,  just now so laggy that i will not be able to finish my 108 planet epic fight

:(   :(

Started in '04, actually.

ya... the reason for lack of multicores is do the the smallness of ironclad, and so the longtimeness it takes for less people to get the same amount of work done... so new fangled technology that is around now wasnt around when this game was started.

+1 kudos to the SOASE makers!
