How far we've come...

Taking a look back.

Has anyone taken a look back recently?  Check out the oldest window blinds...blink a few times...and look at what we have now.  Crazy no?  All I did was sort the blinds by newest, and hit Last Page.  1998 was the earliest post I found...

Or perhaps a look at the cursors.  One of the earliest ones was Gearbox, still cool today.  Especially when it brings back some of those Myst memories 8|

Sorry if there's a thread on this already...I couldn't help myself.o_O

I tried that first skin in the gallery, just for grins....it was tha fastest skin load ever!

Looks like the only thing skinned was the windowframe....I guess skinning was much easier back then.... ;)

Capsula still works....I so wish Allan would revitalize it, or Tiggs...making a complete Capsula skin. It would be wonderful.

Because of that skin I got my first Windowblinds.

Not really.  The 'tools' were more primitive.  Coding was often done in Notepad...and much was trial and error in the early days...;)

Absolutely! As times and technologies change, so do the standards. Look at how games have progressed over the years, for example. Sure, games were "simple" years ago, but the tools to make them were primitive, as well. As a result, the simplest of games took teams of professionals a lot of work.
