Deskscapes 3 problems (Windows 7 and XP)

Demoing Deskscapes 3 on XP Pro SP3 after using 2 on Vista with no problems and now having some unusual troubles. Any folder or Window that I open on my desktop like My Computer will not close unless minimized or I click the X and touch (not click) the start button. I also can't minimize after clicking the X. Another problem is that I can move items out of folders but not put the same one or any other back, I used to move items to a second HDD and now I can't. Windows 7 had the same errors with Deskscapes 3. This is a biggie, not being able to sort files manually in W7 is why I left it. XP has also experienced a couple of freezes today requiring a reboot or deleting and restarting explorer.exe in Task Manager, first time in I don't know how long. Is this to be expected in the demo, I doubt it? On another note and totally unrelated, I purchased and used the dream Utopia Prime on Vista, why is it so huge at 140 MB when Earth in 3 is similar in movement but under 10 MB?

Desktop Earth is a dynamic dream and so rendered in real time on your PC.  Utopia Prime is a video and videos tend to be considerably larger.

The problems you are encountering with explorer are not normal, do you have any other explorer addins running?  Have you rebooted since installing?  If not I would urge you to do so.

Nothing running when this happens, no add ons at all and I thought rebooting could be necessary but no difference, thanks. Edit: I have reinstalled Deskscapes 3 several times on clean images just to be sure the download wasn't corrupt too.

I have the same problem on XP with update to Deskscapes 3. Windows will not close with red x button. If you left click it will close but this is annoying. Any way to fix this?  Thanks

metal1_99, this is a rather old thread. You may want to post in the Support Forum  LINK so someone in support will be sure to see it. Include the info from  About DeskScapes in your post. It is a weekend though so you may have to wait a bit for a reply. You could also send an e-mail to support@stardock.com.

Hi there, can anybody know how to help me with this one. Before it was ok. My problem is that when I use the filter with the stars in Deskscapes 3, it don't keep the settings if we rate 4 or 5 stars. Everythingis coming to 3 stars. Could you help anyone?  Thanks!!!

Yvonlebon47, I suggest starting a new thread as this one is quite old. Also, provide what OS you have and any recent changes you've made that may be causing this to not work as it did before...
