No Internet on upgraded PC

Win 7/Object Dexktop Ultimate

I have been using various versions of Windowblinds since Win98, and have had Object Desktop Ultimate/WB6 installed and working when I was running XP....

BUT

I have updated to Windows 7; the PC in question cannot be connected to the internet (not available to building), and attempting to install any version of WB or ODU crashes, either before installation or before a component (what is unknown) runs. I have tried Administrator privleges AND XP SP3 emulation, but cannot get it to work.

I also bought Tweak7 - but cannot get downloads for this, or any part of ODU, to work - I downloaded both files, with the same version number, to install tweak7, using ImpulseNow, and when I try to install I get told the versions don't match!!!!

I have valid serial numbers for everything, but no way of using what I paid for. I just want to buy a CD or DVD, with serial number, that DOESN'T NEED THE INTERNET TO INSTALL!!!!!!!!!!! And I need to be able to download stuff onto a USB key from my local library PC to take home and install on my home PC.

WHY CAN'T I!

I used ODU exclusively since I discovered it, but I won't be able to now I have a new (home built) PC with Windows 7 (Home Premium) and no internet at home.

Is there another PC availalbe that you have access to and that has an internet connection?

If so, you can use http://anywhere.impulsedriven.com/ to download your applications.

Wow, no way to get internet.  In this day an age, that sounds impossible.  I believe you, I just find it, well somehow amazing. :S

I wonder if you can load the link Zubaz gave to the USB key?

I'm a bit confused which is actually nothing unusual. However if he posted this didn't he have to be on the Internet somewhere? I would think he would have to come back so in that case he can use Zubaz link above, download what he wants to a usb key including Impulse than just install it on his no Internet computer.

Although Zubaz's suggestion regarding Impulse Anywhere is your best bet, have you tried right clicking on an app within Impulse and choosing download and archive to see if that was able to go through successfully?

Regarding your lack of internet, would you be even unable to use something like a MiFi for internet? http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/mobilebroadband/?page=products_mifi

It's certainly not stellar speed, but it provides internet connectivity, which can sometimes be priceless :)

Any time I see a post with someone without an Internet connection available I instantly want to ask if the building even has plumbing.  An internet connection, and even at this point specifically a Wifi connection, is all but a life requirement for me wherever I go.  That said, if you do have an offline machine that you can't get our apps through Impulse on, Impulse Anywhere is the way to go (although you will also have to do some sneaker-netting to activate).  With 3rd party apps, archiving and restoring is the alternative, as we do not yet have them available on Impulse Anywhere.
