Cursor FX Problem

Hello there,

I can't open Cursor FX anymore, whenever I try to do so I receive this message: "Cusor FX has encountered a problem an needs to close". This is the error-signature: AppName: cursorfx control panel.exe     AppVer: 2.0.0.1     ModName: cursorfx control panel.exe
ModVer: 2.0.0.1     Offset: 00014be4

(though I'm not sure if this is helpful in any way).

I uninstalled CFX and reinstalled it, but the problem persists.

I'm using XP Service Pack3.

Thank you for any suggestions!

In between uninstall and then reinstalling did you run a clean up program like CCleaner?

It that doesn't clean up the problem, then a cursor could be causing the problem.  Find the folder that has all the cursors and move them another folder.  Open up Cursor FX and that start adding back in the cursors until you find the one that is causing the problem,

If that doesn't work then you should email support@stardock.com

The themes folder for CursorFX on XP is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes. I would also suggest renaming that if possible (as Philly suggested) and see if that helps.

Thanks both of you for your suggestions! I ran CCleaner and reinstalled and that didn't help. But moving the themes folder to the desktop seems to have helped, even though when I tried to open CFX I got the same error message again at first (and CFX created a new - empty of course - themes folder at the same time), but then I tried if I could apply any of the themes by double-clicking on the theme-file. That worked and afterwards I could open CFX "normally" and it now seems to work properly again. Probably it was a corrupted theme-file, I'll check that still.

Thank you very much!
