Who would pay for new demi's?

So I don't know about you guys, and I guess I'm just trying to get a feel for it, but personally I don't support putting money into a game I already paid for (hence no WoW).  I just wonder what happens after the free demi's are released then they release the next set and try to charge for them.  For them to make money of course they are going to make the new one's "special" or at least seem a bit OP to bolster everyone to buy them (potentially balancing them a few weeks later).  I'm one of the players that probably won't be purchasing any Demigods, and I just wonder if this game will survive that or if people are really willing to put more money into a game that takes longer and longer to get a game going.

in my eyes 10 demigods are enough for now so i wouldnt buy more, but i would certainly pay for a map pack with some 3vs3 maps. if there was an expansion in the future with a pair of new dgs, few more maps, some items, perhaps a really slight ai upgrade i would get it as well.

I definitely agree, it was nice seeing frogboy read this at some point, I hope my original post didnt come off sour, I'd like to see mini-expansion packs over individual picks.  Again thanks for taking the time to consider the way we feel about all this SD.

I am absolutely against map packs. The reason why these "map packs" have become so popular over the years is because of consoles, a medium that lacks the dedicated mod community that we have. I will never, ever, pay for a "map pack" on the PC. It is absolutely bull crap. All CS maps were originally designed by fans and the mod makers and all competitive SC maps usually are fan made.

New Demigods would be another subject. I might pay for new Demigods if there were more people playing and a brighter future for the community, but I'm not so sure at this stage.

as long as the new demigods have as good an art style and balance as all the previous ones without feeling kinda same-y then yes id fork over all my hard earned cash! of course to ensure the level of creativity GPG and SD could hold a community wide contest for best fan made demigod and possibly work with that fan that wins through email :D   just a suggestion i know that'd get me workin on them!

Yes, i would pay for more demigods.

I would prefer to see an "expansion" package that contained demi's and maps however since the development time is so long for demi's i would like it if it didn't hold up the development of more 3v3 maps. I think we'll see more 3v3 maps when mod tools are released.

However i agree with vindKtiv.  There are reasons why consoles suck (for FPS, RPG, RTS etc games), map packs are one of those reasons.  Please dont bring the suck to the PC like Infinity Ward.
