Fences Keeps IP from applying all the icons

I have both the latest version of Fences and IconPackager.  When I apply a new icon theme, all my icons will be skinned for a second and then folders (primarily live folders) will slowly revert to the default Windows icon.  This happens even if the IP theme provides icons for live folders.  I tried multiple themes and this kept happening.  Puzzled, I uninstalled Fences (couldn't figure out how to just disable it).  All of a sudden all the icons were being properly skinned and staying that way.  Fences is somehow keeping IconPackager from skinning icons.

Anybody else having this problem?  Bums me out cuz I really like Fences, but I like my cute icons more.

Also, how do you disable Fences without having to uninstall it?

Thanks!

OS? Bitness (32 or 64)?  Video chipset?

Same problem here, just not with Fences but with RightClick. Hardly any icons are displayed.
Problem appeared after applying the latest IP update.

Vista 64bit

Radeon HD4850 X2 - Catalyst version 09.7

Try the link below:

https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view

Download the "Blank Icons Fix" for your platform (32 or 64 bit) and run it.  Make sure to right click and run as admin if you're using Windows Vista/7 and have UAC enabled.

Snowman: RightClick and 64 bit is like oil and water, that may be your issue.  It's 32 bit XP/Vista only.

Yeah, I know RC aint too happy about 64 bit, but after having 'unloaded' IP (Applied default icons) , the problem went away.
Now I have all icons in RC again.

Yeah, that fix didn't help me Shirley, at least not with the original problem I posted about, which is icons not being skinned properly with IP when I'm using Fences.  I haven't seen any blank icons so far today though.

Is there a way to disable Fences without having to completely uninstall it?

EDIT: NM I found the option in the Fences configuration.  Not sure why I didn't see it before.  So far, it seems like I can disable Fences, skin my icons with IP, enable Fences and the icons will stay skinned.  Only tested it twice though, and that's certainly no long-term solution.  Ah well.

I have this problem too, and the above fix did not work for me.  I am in Windows7 with 6 GB RAM and a single NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

I found the control to disable fences, but the icons still will not all change.  I have icons from the current set applied, the last set applied and the basic Windows icons all at the same time.  I hate to remove fences altogether.  Is there a better fix for this?

I don't believe Fences really has anything to do with the icons issue.  IconPackager and Fences work with completely different parts of Windows.  Blank icons are usually the result of a bad patch to imageres.dll or a corrupt icon cache, neither of which would really be affected by Fences.  If you're seeing the blank icons still, I would suggest contacting support@stardock.com so that we can help figure out what is causing the issue and how to remedy it.
