I gave Demigod 2 more tries.... sigh

I recently reinstalled Demigod to give it another shot, I just love the game.  The core of it is an amazing idea disregarding all the bugs/imbalances/etc...

Game 1 - totally balanced 3v3 cataract game.  very good players, at about level 12, bam, one guy crashes, 10 second gamestate error exit...

Fuck this I uninstall.

Now, like a girlfriend coming crying back after you dumped her... I reinstalled again.

Game 2 - Great 3v3 cata game, get to war rank 10, we stomp them.  Game ends without an error.

Game 3 - Totally balanced 3v3, almost mirror match.  Level 11, no deaths either side, I know this is going to be an epic game.  The kind you've been waiting for through the hundeds of bugged/crashed games.  I was dreaming of level 20 (which I've seen once in 300 games), full artifacts, etc... hehe...  All of a sudden, one guy crashes, 10 second error, game ends.

Fuck your 2 new demigods, fuck your replays, FIX THE GOD DAMN GAME FIRST.

Looks like an example of a "rage quit", classified by modern psychiatry as a "histrionic emo quit". :)

Yeah, but he has a point. The crashes are very annoying.

fix the game first please!

no modding tools, no new demigods, no new singleplayer...first... FIX THE MANY HEAVY BUGS AND THE MUST-HAVE MP-INFRASTRUCTURE FEATURES

the players already left due to the slow support and fixing. how many players remained? how many left due to the problems?

Modding tools are in 1.2

2 new demigods are in 1.2

Who cares about singleplayer, even then we get 2 new singleplayer win movies in 1.2.

Desyncbug, TB Fireform autoattack, demigods autoattacking randomly are all fixed in 1.2

1.2 Is done, GPG sent it to Stardock and all we wait for now is for Stardock to let us betatest it this week, then we probably get release next week.

Arranged teams may be something implemented into ready 2 play before it gets out of beta.

i was eating noodles with some ketchup and i spilled some of the ketchup on my lap.

i then went on the ketchup forum www.ketchup.org/forum and flamed the shit out of the ketchup makers. i mean this shouldnt happen. ketchup has totally failed me.

like an emo nub, i gave ketchup one more chance and installed some on my noodles the next day. it was quite good...then just as i was about to finish my meal, some ketchup spilled on my lap again. fuck this shit i thought and stabbed the ketchup bottle.

I wish all the rage posters would get an "invalid poststate error" as they post so that it never makes it onto the forums.

I wasn't actually being serious with the post, and no I'm not a "histrionic emo" lol.

In 1.2, they might have fixed the desync bug, but did they fix the bug where the game crashes for one person which usually triggers the invalid gamestate error?

Inerz that was pro.

*sigh*

read again in context!

i did not denied the existence of new demigods or modding tools in 1.2 i said i DON'T WANT ANY OF THEM BEFORE THE GAME IS BEING FIXED, BEFORE THE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS HAVE BEEN DONE

yet to be prooven true. but looking at the shrunken community it seems anyway far too late. at least the players that remained will have some fun after this torture.

here again stupid prioritizing: a full mulitplayer game and they prioritize singleplayer additions, modding, and new demigods before teamed matchmaking system, network performance, balance problems and
even the ladder and stats STILL DOES NOT WORK.

CelMare makes the most important point of all here.  The community has shrunken down way too far to ever be brought back up again.  When gamers decide to can a game and move on to another one, they usually make that decision for good.  And it's true, the core game really needs to be fixed before they add all these shiny new additions.  These seem to be a desperate attempt to boost the numbers up a little bit.  In reality, the game might float on air for a little while because of these, but if you don't fix the root of the problem it'll end up back at 100-200 players at any given time.  Compared to all the other online pc games being played and their numbers, this game is very close to being dead.
